Friday afternoon: The Park

Charlie was taking advantage of a really nice afternoon to sit on a bench in the park and play her guitar. Jaq was perched on her shoulder, fire lizard tail wrapped gently around her neck, bronze scales gleaming in the sun.* Occasionally he would chime in with a haunting harmony, which just tickled Charlie to no end.

"Let's try some Celtic stuff," she said. "Those have some kick-ass harmonies!"




Open park is open and Charlie is absolutely willing to be distracted!

Riri had needed to just get out of the dorms today. Because the weirdness was still going on! This time, it was a snake that wrapped itself around her arm had, in an exacerbated note, told her that she was overreacting.

"I cannot believe this," she muttered as the snake, Ydran apparently, just hummed like he was humoring her still.

"Riri, right?" Charlie said and Jaq chirped agreement. "I see you have a new friend today too. Crazy, huh?"

"You get one too?" she asked as the snake moved it's way up to drape over her shoulder and around her neck for a better view.

"Yep," Charlie said cheerfully. "Mini-dragon named Jaq. He's awesome."

"Fire lizard," Jaq said with an eye-roll. "But yes, I am."

"Mine's just annoying," Riri said as the snake hissed in her ear. "Man, stop that."

Odds are good that even if Jaq had been annoying, Charlie still would have thought she was awesome. That was kind of just the way she rolled.

"That's too bad," Charlie said, her cheerfullness not dimmed in the slightest. "What are they trying to tell you?"

"Mostly that I need to get out more." Bossy thing that it was.

"You do need to get out more," they hissed.

"Well, you can always come hang with me," Charlie said. "I'm sort of the definition of out and about." Not that you'd know it with the mun's schedule, but...

Real life do be real lifing that way, man.

"Yeah?" Riri asked. "You in the dorms too?"

"Oh yeah, second floor," Charlie said. "Best common room."
