The Devil's Nest, Monday Night
There was a live band tonight that Eric had not ordered. Tiny pleaded innocence entirely too quickly for it to be real, either. "What kind of music do they play?" Eric asked, looking confused by the plasticky blue elephant...thing playing a keyboard.
Tiny told him.
"It is not called that."
Tiny grinned.
"Well, that's probably why they were so cheap," Eric said.
Tiny told him how much they cost.
"Well, that's probably why it's coming out of your paycheck," Eric amended.
Welcome to the Devil's Nest. Enjoy the jizz band.

She hadn't been able to entirely escape her galaxy, though, and was on the phone as she came in.
"I'm sorry, you what?"
Had to jump in the acid to put out the fire from the lava. Honestly, it - oh, stop whining, you big baby, you're fine.
"Nox, who are you dragging with you today?"
One of Oggurobb's botanists. I haven't learned his name.
Lana facepalmed. "Please do not get the scientists killed."
I put him out! And I've been leaving him at base camp as often as possible. Mostly to avoid the complaining. You'd think he'd never encountered biohazards before.
"Not everybody has been genetically altered to be immune to radioactive poison, you know."
Nox's disgusted noise came through clear. That's their own deficiency. Just tell the Commander it's going well and we'll be back in a week or so.
"I'll let him know," Lana promised. She hung up and sighed.

"Of all the ways I thought I could get homesick, this definitely wasn't on the list," he said, while BD-1 tapped to the beat on his back.

The second thing was, well. The other obvious thing.
"... Okay," she said, slowly, eyeing the band. "Don't tell me they'll be here all week."
