The Park, and then the Trooper Station, Monday Morning
The trip back to Earth in the shuttle didn't take more than a few hours, but out of habit he ended up pulling out of ID space just over DC, instead of Fandom Island.
"That's weird," he mused, noting the absence of the Taelon Embassy in the city's skyline as he flew towards the coast. He figured the government must have decided to tear it down after the Taelons had left. A few minutes later, the navigational computer pinged to let him know he was approaching Fandom and he began the landing sequence. The virtual glass had barely dissolved and he was just stepping out when a person in strange white and blue came stalking up.
Liam tensed, curling his hands in to fists as his palms began to itch. Blowing something up immediately after touching down would be a hell of a first impression, and one he kind of wanted to avoid.

Ra'jel hadn't been kidding when he'd said the place was little, Liam realized, as it took the two of them less than five minutes to reach this 'Trooper Station'. The armored guy- Trooper? Liam supposed, led him through the doors and towards a desk where another guy in armor sat.

"Found who?" and despite the helmet, Liam could hear the frown in the guy's voice.
"The new boss man!"
"The new what now?"

"Really not." Desk-Trooper seconded. "I wouldn't worry about it. This sort of thing happens all the time. Calvin there will show you to your office."

Trooper Station is Open For Business! ... Kinda.
So far, he was mostly just reading up on incident reports, of which there were, well. A lot. Almost no arrest records, though. Interesting.
Re: Trooper Station is Open For Business! ... Kinda.
That wasn't what Nathan was here about, though. It was more that Nathan had realized that he had been on the island for quite some time without finding out if there were any regulations of any sort for swords or firearms, of which he had both. There hadn't been, so much, when last he was here. But times changed, the people in charge of those things back then had long moved on, and it couldn't hurt to make absolutely certain he was complying with any current rules. Particularly before some future invasion came smashing through town and he had to use those things.
So, here came Nathan Algren, stepping into the Trooper Station and giving a faintly bemused look around.
Really, the only thing that would make this sight more Fandom would be if a gremlin was doing paperwork. Though he supposed Bob actually worked at the school already.

Liam looked up from a truly fascinating account of gremlin-shaped-garden-gnome theft at the sound of the door to the station opening. "Uh, hey there?" he greeted, poking his head out the doorway of his office.
Re: Trooper Station is Open For Business! ... Kinda.
"Afternoon," Nathan said, nodding at the unfamiliar face (most faces were, these days. He didn't think much of it,) as he let the door close behind himself. "I was wondering if this is the place I need to go to talk to somebody about weapons policies on the island these days?"
Because modern people were much more weird about that sort of thing than they had been in his time.

"Ah," Nathan said after a pause. "Well, then."
Of course he'd pick the day when the newest victim to Fandom's whimsy was just starting out his first day of work.
"Welcome to the island," he offered.
Re: Trooper Station is Open For Business! ... Kinda.
Yes, a parking ticket. On an island with no cars. Though the bright purple shuttle currently still sitting in the middle of the park was probably hard to miss. "Major Liam Kincaid, Da'-" he broke off, making a face. Old habits were hard to break, apparently. "Liam Kincaid," he corrected himself.
Re: Trooper Station is Open For Business! ... Kinda.
Ah, there was a habit Nathan knew all too well. He offered Liam a wry smile.
"Captain Nathan Algren," he offered, making his way over and offering a handshake. "Nathan's just fine."

"You get used to that," Nathan replied, smirking faintly. "It's easier once you realize they aren't to be taken too seriously."
Mostly now Nathan had come to associate Trooper gear with just a few more people to stand behind in the lineup at J,GoB.

Nathan shrugged.
"I don't know," he replied. "Why not try asking whoever they have locked up in the jail cell right now."
Nobody, he was willing to bet.
Re: Trooper Station is Open For Business! ... Kinda.
"So," he continued, "Like I said, I don't actually know about a weapons policy, but there might be something in the computer about that? I could look it up?" he offered.
