Caritas - Saturday Evening [Open]
Weevil arrives and makes sure everything is set up. He nods at the zombie band before opening the doors to Caritas.

The Stage
Re: The Stage
You never close your eyes any more
When I kiss your lips
And there's no tenderness like before
In your fingertips
You're trying hard not to show it baby
But baby, baby I know it
You've lost that loving feeling
Oh, that loving feeling
You've lost that loving feeling
Now it's gone, gone, gone
Whoa-oooooh
Now there's no tenderness
In your eyes when I reach for you
And girl you're starting to criticize
little things I do
It makes me just feel like crying baby
'Cause baby, something beautiful's dying
You've lost that loving feeling
Oh that loving feeling
Bring back that loving feeling
Now it's gone gone gone
No I can't go on
No-oh-oh
Baby baby I get down on my knees for you
If you would only love me like you used to do
We had a love
A love a love you don't find every day
So don't...don't...don't let it slip away
Bring back that loving feeling
Oh, that loving feeling
Bring back that loving feeling
Now it's gone...gone...gone...
And I can't go on...
Noooooo...
And then he passed out.
Re: The Stage
No. That was definitely not on his list of activities for the evening.
After that rendition, though, another drink was.

Re: The Stage
There's a crack in the mirror
And a bloodstain on the bed -
There's a crack in the mirror
And a bloodstain on the bed -
O you were a vampire and baby
I'm walking dead
O you were a vampire and baby
I'm walking dead
I got the ways and means
To new orleans I'm going
Down by the river
Where it's warm and green
I’m gonna have drink, and walk around
I got a lot to think about oh yeah
There's a rocking chair by the window
Down the hall
I hear something there in the shadow
Down the hall
O you were a vampire and now I am
Nothing at all
O you were a vampire and now I am
Nothing at all
They used to dance in the garden in the
Middle of the night
They used to dance in the garden in the
Middle of the night
They were naked as the day they were
Born skin all bone-china white
O you were a vampire
And I may never see the light
Re: The Stage
You know I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile without you
You came along just like a song
And brighten my day
Who would have believed that you were part of a dream
Now it all seems light years away
And now you know I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile
Now some people say happiness takes so very long to find
Well, I'm finding it hard leaving your love behind me
And you see I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel glad when you're glad
I feel sad when you're sad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile without you

I've wined and dined on Mulligan Stew, and never wished for Turkey
As I hitched and hiked and grifted too, from Maine to Albuquerque
Alas, I missed the Beaux Arts Ball, and what is twice as sad
I was never at a party where they honored Noel Ca-ad (Coward)
But social circles spin too fast for me
My "hobohemia" is the place to be
I get too hungry, for dinner at eight
I like the theater, but never come late
I never bother, with people I hate
That's why the lady is a tramp
I don't like crap games, with barons and earls
Won't go to Harlem, in ermine and pearls
Won't dish the dirt, with the rest of the girls
That's why the lady is a tramp
I like the free, fresh wind in my hair
Life without care
I'm broke, it's o'k
Hate California, it's cold and it's damp
That's why the lady is a tramp
I go to Coney, the beach is divine
I go to ballgames, the bleachers are fine
I follow Winchell, and read every line
That's why the lady is a tramp
I like a prizefight, that isn't a fake
I love the rowing, on Central Park lake
I go to Opera and stay wide awake
That's why the lady is a tramp
I like the green grass under my shoes
What can I lose, I'm flat, that's that
I'm alone when I lower my lamp
That's why the lady is a tramp
Girls get massages, they cry and they moan,
Tell Slenderella to leave me alone,
I'm not so hot but my shape is my own,
That's why the lady is a tramp.
I like the free, fresh rain on my face,
Diamonds and lace
Don't got, so what?
For Frank Sinatra I whistle and stamp,
That's why the lady is a tramp.
She's a hobo, she's a scamp,
She's a no good kind of tramp,
Thaaaaat's whyyyyy the laaaaady,
is a traaaaaaaaamp!

Re: The Stage
When a man loves a woman
Can't keep his mind on nothing else
He'll trade the world
For the good thing he's found
If she's bad he can't see it
She can do no wrong
Turn his back on his best friend
If he put her down
When a man loves a woman
Spend his very last dime
Tryin' to hold on to what he needs
He'd give up all his comfort
Sleep out in the rain
If she said that's the way it ought to be
Well, this man loves a woman
I gave you everything I had
Tryin' to hold on to your precious love
Baby, please don't treat me bad
When a man loves a woman
Down deep in his soul
She can bring him such misery
If she plays him for a fool
He's the last one to know
Lovin' eyes can't ever see
When a man loves a woman
He can do no wrong
He can never own some other girl
Yes when a man loves a woman
I know exactly how he feels
'Cause baby, baby, baby, you're my world
When a man loves a woman....
Re: The Stage
But she whistled and clapped anyway. Most people in the bar didn't seem to appreciate GOB's brilliant humor, so she felt it was her duty.

He was a little unnerved by the zombie band, but only for a moment. There was a kid back at Xavier's that looked like a zombie, and he was a great guy. There really wan't much difference here. He told them what he wanted, and they nodded.
He took the microphone, and stared out into the audience. "I wanna dedicate this to someone really special to me. I have to change a word in the song, though, if no one minds." No one seemed to, so he motioned to the band. They started up the opening chords to a country ballad, and Victor began to sing:
Times are hard, and rents are high
What can a working boy do
But struggle through another day
Then I'll take care of you
Nights are long, and dreams are cold
If they're all you wake up to
But should you rise with crying eyes
Then I'll take care of you
So let them talk about us
Let them call us funny things
People sometimes do
I don't care as long
As you know I love you
Oh, and you know I do
I'll be there, but you might not see me
It's never easy to get through
But when the laughter dies away
I'll take care of you
So let them talk about us
Let them call us funny things
People sometimes do
I don't care as long
As you know I love you
Oh, and you know I do
I'll be there, but you might not see me
It's never easy to get through
But when the laughter dies away
Then I'll take care of you
Darlin', I'll take care of you
He sounds as best as a 14-year-old boy can singing the Dixie Chicks, and actually really good.
Because the mun isn't Gary Stu-ing. Nope, not at all.Re: The Stage
Re: The Stage
Times have changed,
And we've often rewound the clock,
Since the Puritans got a shock,
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.
If today,
Any shock they should try to stem,
'Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock,
Plymouth Rock would land on them.
In olden days a glimpse of stocking
Was looked on as something shocking,
But now, God knows,
Anything Goes.
Good authors too who once knew better words,
Now only use four letter words
Writing prose, Anything Goes.
The world has gone mad today
And good's bad today,
And black's white today,
And day's night today,
When most guys today
That women prize today
Are just silly gigolos
And though I'm not a great romancer
I know that I'm bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes
When grandmama whose age is eighty
In night clubs is getting matey with gigolo's,
Anything Goes.
When mothers pack and leave poor father
Because they decide they'd rather be tennis pros,
Anything Goes.
If driving fast cars you like,
If low bars you like,
If old hymns you like,
If bare limbs you like,
If Mae West you like
Or me undressed you like,
Why, nobody will oppose!
When every night,
The set that's smart
Is intruding in nudist parties in studios,
Anything Goes.
The world has gone mad today
And good's bad today,
And black's white today,
And day's night today,
When most guys today
That women prize today
Are just silly gigolos
And though I'm not a great romancer
I know that I'm bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes
If saying your prayers you like,
If green pears you like
If old chairs you like,
If back stairs you like,
If love affairs you like
With young bears you like,
Why nobody will oppose!
And though I'm not a great romancer
And though I'm not a great romancer
I know that I'm bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes...
Anything goes!
As promised, he was not particularly good, but no dogs were howling outside.
