Nadia opened the store, somewhat relieved to see that Lucas seemed to be sleeping in nice and late. The less contact she had with her boss, she figured, the better.

Especially since her "present to Veronica" that she'd had to ask for an advance for, was currently tethered by one leg to the "Parental advisory" section and shouting things like "Cursing is disrespectful!" and "Judge not lest ye be judged!" at the top of its speakers.

Every now and then, it managed to spit out a few bits of glitter, but it was obvious that the morality bot's main line of defense was running on empty.

Today's music mix: The Cure. I mean, come on. What else would it be?

"Can you call it off?" Christian said, trying to pull Moral from his leg. "It's going to ruin my suit."

Fortunately, Moral was beginning to wind down. It clutched at the doctor's leg harder as though it somehow sensed this. "Do unto others . . ." its voice got deeper as it slowed "as you wouuuuld hhhaaaavvvveeee tttthhhheeemmm dooooo unnnntoooooooooooooooooo. . . ." It slowed to a stop.

Still clutching Christian's leg.

"It's done now," Nadia said mildly, though she was somewhat sad to see the bot fade out like that.
