"Hello, Veronica. I haven't seen you in a while--how are you doing?" Jarod walked behind the bar and began looking for something. "Have you seen a copy of the Boy Scout handbook lying around? Plus, I forgot my paycheck yesterday."

"I'm doing okay, how are you?" Veronica asked, opening the drawer of the cash register to get out Jarod's check.

"What's this I hear about you and Parker?"

Archie made his way down to Caritas, still feeling a bit embarrassed about the whole computer lab incident, so it was with an uncharacteristic bit of hesitation that he sat down at the bar.

[OOC: Leaving work now. Just establishing presence for now. *g*]

"It must be my lucky week," Veronica said by way of greeting. "What brings you in on a Thursday? And are you having beer or whiskey tonight?"

"Lucky night, is it?" Archie laughed and rested his forearms on the counter. "Only attempting to get out more, that's all, and I wouldn't say no to a whiskey this evening. How are you tonight?"

Veronica poured the whiskey and added a festive umbrella, just for fun.

"I'm okay," she said with a small smile. "What's this I hear about you going to the computer lab?" she asked, leaning forward.

Archie looked at the umbrella with a bemused smile and suddenly broke out in a hearty laugh. Just as well; it let him cover his embarrassment a bit.

"The radio last night. Yes." He took the umbrella out of the glass and twirled it playfully. "It was my idea of a little adventure, but I'm afraid I wasn't quite the bold and intrepid explorer I might have fancied myself to be."

Lana went over to the bar with Kiki following along behind. "Veronica?" she said. "Have you heard from Phoebe?"

Veronica raised her eyebrows. "No... should I have?" she asked. "We haven't really talked lately," she admitted.

Lana looked at her oddly. "But... Phoebe told me she was coming here to talk to you. Said she wanted her friends with her. I assumed..."

She shook her head. "This is totally not good."

"Wait... Phoebe was coming down here tonight? Alone?" Veronica took a deep breath and wondered if Bel had told Phoebe the truth about who had attacked Allie.

"Yes, she wanted to meet us," Kiki said, feeling suddenly suspicious at Veronica's reaction. "But she didn't tell me why... Have you heard from Bel?" she asked, her voice urgent. "We need to call him. Now."

Kiki smiled and waved at Lana as she came in.

Ordering a hot tea, Kiki sat down. "Hi!" she said cheerfully, although her voice was raspy and her eyes looked glassy with tiredness. "How's it going?"

She coughed, and made a wry face. "I know, I know, I sound bad! I'll be fine, really."

"Yeah, she called me this afternoon, and said she wanted to meet me here - you too, it looks like," Kiki replied, her words punctuated by coughs. She thanked the waitress gratefully as her tea arrived and she immediately took a sip. "I'm hoping it's something fun - like celebrating Bel's freedom! Maybe it's a surprise for him."

"That would be nice," Lana said. "No idea, except that she said she could use her friends here."

She shrugged. "Not like I have anything else to do. And I don't have any classes tomorrow, so..."
