"So far he's refused to answer me about either one," said Janet. She disappeared into the kitchen to raid Methos' breakfast cereals, and came out a minute later with a bowl of sugary, artificially-colored cereal, and a spoon. I'm a cerealmodder, eek. "I say we kick him into Special Collections and don't mount a rescue expedition until September."

Methos mock-scowled at both of them. "Of course we're having a test. Just because I've been absent lately doesn't mean you get a free ride. And spelunking Special Collections... not a bad idea."

Janet stuck her tongue out at him. "We don't need a free ride. Of course, having one would be nice." She took a bite of cereal. "Are you running away for the summer?"

"Aren't you supposed to be the mature one here?" asked Janet. She turned to Parker. "Theoretically, he's more mature than either of us, right?" She looked back at Methos. "I don't know. Is the library mad at you for quitting to teach history instead?"

"If it is, I suppose I'll find out," Methos said, grinning. "I'll ask permission of Herr Wagner, since it is his domain now, but I'd love to see what's in there. And it's not like Special Collections could -- I mean, would -- kill me."

Methos made a face. "Being turned into an amphibian is not on my list of things-to-do. Perhaps I'll take some sort of offering. I wonder what Special Collections like? Library paste? Note cards?"
