Beach, near Galactica Point

Greg was waiting out on the beach, his hands shoved in his pockets while he waited for Anakin and hoped that a certain blonde didn't show up early.

Yes, his hair was still gel-less. It was very sad.

[Primarily for Greg, Anakin and Isabel, obviously, but anyone is welcome to wander past and omgwtf. Plus there'll eventually be sky writing, which everyone'll be able to see. :)]

Anakin was there, anal-retentively on time.

His hood was up and it was obvious that he wasn't exactly on board with the whole "talking to people" concept.

"I've got the plane," he said without preamble. "Have you figured out what you want me to write?"

Anakin glanced down at the paper. "Not a problem," he replied. He looked at his chrono. "Give me fifteen minutes to get the plane in the air and it'll be up for you." He raised an eyebrow. "Unless you need more time to wait for Isabel?"

Anakin nodded, then turned on his heel and walked away.

At the appointed time, Isabel took a walk down to the beach. "Hi!" she said, looking around curiously.

"Molly and I baked a doorstop," she said sadly. "But the frosting was tasty. So we ate it with spoons."

"You must have added the coffee then." Isabel followed his gaze towards the sky. "What's so interesting?"

Oooh. Skywriting

A few moments later the sound of a small airplane engine could be heard above the island.

Smoke expelled from the back of it spelled out:

G (heart) I

in mile-high letters before the plane did a loop in the air and headed back towards the runway.

Isabel opened and closed her mouth several times after the plane flew off. But she couldn't seem to make her voice work. She did squeeze Greg's hand tightly though.

"Wow," she said, finally finding her voice. "Just wow. No one's ever...That's just so... I can't believe..." Yes, she's babbling.

"Very, very yay," Isabel said quietly. She gently touched his cheek with her free hand, then kissed him.

"Anakin did this?" she asked, surprised. Although thinking about it, with the flying, it made sense. "That was so nice of him."

Isabel grinned, "Barbosssa's idea? I'm going to have to drop some rum off at the radio station for him. It was a wonderful idea. Anakin gets brownies, and you get...Hmmm, I might have to think about that." She blushed and looked down. "I like the message. If there was a way for me to write it in reverse, I would."

"I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm not," Isabel smiled brightly. "I really, really did like the message. This was a wonderful surprise. I think it's the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me."

"Really?" she asked, looking at him through lowered lashes.

Isabel stepped closer, slipping an arm around Greg's waist and resting her head against his shoulder. It was much easier to talk when she had the illusion of hiding. "So if I were to say I'm falling. Hard. That would be a good thing?"

"Good, then consider it said." She returned the hug, tilting her head up to smile at him.

"It's just right," she replied. "And now I feel like Goldilocks." Still smiling, she reached under his shirt to tickle him lightly. "You got lucky. The pirate's advice is sometimes a little skewed."

It was a cute non-giggle. So Isabel tried to make him do it again. "I'm just glad he didn't tell you to ply me with rum. The results could have been scary."

"I'll have to take your word for it," she said, letting go and stepping back. "So do you have any plans for the rest of the day?"

"Beyond spending time with you?" Isabel asked, smiling. "No."

"There's lots of options," Isabel said, ticking them off on her fingers. "We could stay here, enjoy the beach. We could go for a long walk through the preserve. Caritas will be opening soon. Or we could always wander back to the dorm and watch a movie or something."

"What? No brain breaky? That sounds like a plan. It's too hot to stay here unless we go in the water." Isabel looked down at her denim shorts and knit top. "And I'm not dressed for it."

"Another time then," she grinned. "For now, we can head back to my room (http://izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com/32408.html)."
