Caritas - Open [8/10]

Veronica arrived at work, grateful that the temperatures had cooled off considerably from the previous week.

She checked the Zombie Band and got everything ready to open, all the while thinking about a going away gift for Weevil.

"Oh, come here," she said, leaning over for a kiss. "You know I just like teasing you."

"I could be aware of that, yes," Archie grinned. "I might also enjoy it enough to give you the opportunity to tease me more."

"What are you drinking tonight?" she asked, still smiling.

"Rum and Coke," Archie said promptly. He'd been thinking about this all day, for some reason. "As long as I get my umbrella," he added teasingly.

Veronica raised an eyebrow. "Well, I don't know if you deserve an umbrella today," she teased.

"You're cute when you pout," Veronica replied, fixing his drink and adding an umbrella.

Archie allowed himself a self-satisfied but playful smirk. "My cunning plan worked. Perhaps I have a future as a privateer after all."

"Are you saying you want me to go into business with you?" Archie asked, quirking an amused eyebrow at her. "That's quite the commitment."

"Maybe I was suggesting you move to LA and work with Angel," she said. Then she stopped to think about Archie working with Angel and Logan and nearly broke her brain.

"Or, you know, working with me and my dad."

Archie thought about himself doing detective work and started to laugh, only to break off and consider it seriously. "Would you ever handle cases involving boats?"
