Maureen opened the store since Kaylee had requested the day off, telling her it was Parents Weekend and she had a visitor coming to the island.

The fact that there might be some new, good-looking adults around for the weekend had Maureen in a very good mood. She hoped some of them would stop by the store.

Speaking of good looking adults...

Kapten Fabe crawl crawl staggers up from the beach only to stagger stagger hop hop the wrong way and ends up in Empire.

He looks around, totally confused.

"Is this the school?"

Maureen raised her eyebrow. "No... it's up the hill," she said, pointing in the correct direction.

"Don't quirk yer eyebrow at me woman! You're right juicy enough but I ain't got time fer that now!" He turned on his heel and headed out the door.

Before he made his way to the school, the Marquis stopped in at the first establishment that caught his eye.

"What a quaint little nook," he said, looking over the store... and Maureen.

"Can I help you with... anything?" Maureen asked with a flirty grin.

"Sadly, at this time, just a bit of information," the Marquis said. "Would you consider this town... safe, m'lady?"

"Sure would," Maureen said, since she was still entirely unaware of the oddities in the town. "'Course, I'd imagine anywhere was safer than New York City. Where are you from?"

"My usual haunt is London Below," the Marquis said. He bowed with a flourish. "The Marquis de Carabas, at your service."

Maureen had never heard of London Below and she had no idea what a Marquis was, but she figured it was some sort of royalty and curtsied in response.

"Maureen Johnson, at your service," she replied.

"That you are," the Marquis said. "But unfortunately I believe I am done here. That is, of course, unless there is some small service that you would need from me?"

"Nothing I can think of," Maureen replied. "But if you're in town for the weekend, maybe we can have a drink. I'll be here during the day, feel free to stop back."

"Perhaps I shall," the Marquis said. He didn't see a particular worth in having a favor owed from the woman, but sometimes those were the best to have. "A good day to you." He turned to leave.

"And how can I help you today?" Maureen asked.

"Can't help you there," Maureen said. "Don't know him."

He scanned the store, and could find no life signs that seemed likely. He turned to leave.
