Caritas - Wednesday Evening [Open]

GOB was in the spirit of the season. He was dressed like a pilgrim and wanted people to give him thanks for the booze he was providing. That's what the season was about, right?

He also replaced the zombie drummer's drum set with several raw turkeys. Strangely enough, he didn't go for the obvious joke and replace the drumsticks. He was curious to see what would happen.

"You made up all of that."

"It's a family tradition," GOB lied.

"Of lying?"

Damn. "We're thankful for the opportunity to lie."

"That's kind of stupid," Becky said.

"My family lies a lot," GOB said. "If we didn't lie, we'd barely talk to each other."

"So why make it a tradition? It sounds like it's just normal life," she said with another shrug.

"The tradition is being thankful for lying," GOB said. "The rest of the year we just lie, period."

He was still making all of this up.

"But if you all know you're lying, and you talk about it, that ruins it," she pointed out.

"I don't question your traditions," GOB said.

"I have none," she said flatly.

"Come on, you have to," GOB said. "Every family has some kind of insane thing they do."

"My mom calls me every night at the same time," she said, shrugging.

"See, this is exactly like that," GOB said. "Do you think your mom would like me?"

"I don't know," Becky said.

"Guess," GOB said. "I'm curious. If you do, I'll let you wear the hat."

Becky considered.

And then said, "She probably wouldn't. Hat now?"

"Why not?" GOB said, not touching the hat yet.

"'Cause I think you're the same age," she said, holding out her hand for the hat.

"Is she hot?" GOB asked, curiously as he took his hat off.

"She looks like me, but old and her eyes aren't weird," Becky said, wriggling her fingers expectantly.

"Interesting," GOB said, handing the hat over. "And your parents are happily married?"

"...yeah, why?" Becky asked, putting the hat on.

"No, that's just nice," GOB said, considering how hard it would be to have an affair with Becky's mom. "It's nice to see a couple in a happy relationship after all those years during the holidays."

"You look hot with a buckle on your head."

"...that is the weirdest compliment ever. And of course I do, since I always look hot," said Becky.
