Mauvaise Chance Office, Monday [01/22] - Morning (and the rest of the day)

Calls made, face palmed, Xander had done his best to tidy up himself and the apartment his younger, deader version had broken into. Then, already preparing to facepalm some more with one hand and write checks with the other, he made his way out to the counter in the apartment building's lobby.

"Hello? Hey? I, um. Need to report some damage. Which I'd be happy to pay for. Or I can fix it myself if you want..."

When no one answered, or emerged from the office behind it, Xander finally - preparing to apologize for that too - went behind the counter himself, and opened the office door.

"Hi?"

__

[OOC: 1st thread locked to Xander and...the office, la. After that, he'll be behind the counter WTF-ing, and it's open for a specific person looking for a room, any residents who'd like to stop in and complain/meet the new management, or anybody else who might *cough* eventually come looking for him.]

A low buzz filled the room and a flickering hologram appeared in the middle of the room.

"Hey, there," the hologram said, grinning. "Seamus Zelanzy Harper speaking, and I'd like to welcome you to your new career as owner and manager of the Mauvaise Chance Apartments."

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2007-01-22 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Now I know what you're thinking, 'What? Me? Why?'," The Harper-gram continued, oblivious to Xander's reactions since it was just a recording. "The answer, my curious friend, is that you opened the door, you showed the kind of initiative needed to run this popsicle stand."

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2007-01-22 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"But, Harper, I'm just some schmuck in search of an extremely affordable place to live with all the modern conveniences, not a super genius like you, I can't possibly run a place like this," Harper-gram said, still ignoring Xander. "Well, that's where you're wrong. Just because my timetable means that I can't go out and find a replacement doesn't mean I can't prepare for them."

Harper-gram walked over to the desk and held up his hand. "In this drawer not only will you find the deeds and various passkeys to the apartments, as well as the codes for the computer systems, but there are also detailed instructions both administrative and mechanical on operating these here apartments."

Do not ask how Willow knew to find him here. It was a BFF thing. Also do not ask why her mun was starting this thread when she had no idea how busy she might be at work. It was an insanity thing.

Willow walked up to the desk and held up her sign. The sign read:

Weekend? What weekend?

Willow giggled. She added a note.

Weird dreams though, huh?

"I found out that if you try to order a gross of Lethe's Bramble they mark you down as a possible felon," Willow replied, since they were sharing about their day.

After her omgwtf early class, Cally was deciding to try and open up her entrepreneurship a bit. And had a couple sample jars of her Viper booze and was now trying to sell them door-to-door.

She figured the face might get her a few sales, too.

But boy was she surprised when she stopped MCA Counter. She was kinda staring.

Cally blinked a few more times. "'ander? What happened to you?"

Cally actually smiled, as best she could. That was definitely Xander. "'eah, the last part. You were 'ere for the weird weekend, huh?"

Rory had looked at the hotel, and when she didn't find him there, she went to the next logical place.

So that was why there was a Rory as covered up as could be, with the hood of her sweatshirt flipped up and everything, quietly shuffling in with something clutched in her palm.

"Um, hi."

Rory held out a pair of fifties. "Um. You...lost these over the weekend."

Down my top went unsaid.

Ellen was done with the hotel room - she wanted her own space and was willing to stretch her wallet a little if need be. The place that actually looked like an apartment building seemed like a good place to start, so she walked in and up to the counter. "Excuse me, you the manager here?"

"Then who do I get to rent me an apartment?" Ellen asked, giving Xander an expectant look.
