Mauvaise Chance Office, Monday [01/22] - Morning (and the rest of the day)

Calls made, face palmed, Xander had done his best to tidy up himself and the apartment his younger, deader version had broken into. Then, already preparing to facepalm some more with one hand and write checks with the other, he made his way out to the counter in the apartment building's lobby.

"Hello? Hey? I, um. Need to report some damage. Which I'd be happy to pay for. Or I can fix it myself if you want..."

When no one answered, or emerged from the office behind it, Xander finally - preparing to apologize for that too - went behind the counter himself, and opened the office door.

"Hi?"

[OOC: 1st thread locked to Xander and...the office, la. After that, he'll be behind the counter WTF-ing, and it's open for a specific person looking for a room, any residents who'd like to stop in and complain/meet the new management, or anybody else who might *cough* eventually come looking for him.]

She smiled, deciding laughing at the young man wasn't really the impression she wanted to make, especially if he continued on as the manager. "I'll take the 'yes' and suggest we discuss it later, if we have to," she said.

"Congratulations, then - you got yourself a new apartment." Xander glanced at the apartment on the other side of the lobby. "Which makes two of us, apparently."

"Congratulations in return then," Ellen said. "And hopefully you'll be sticking around a while at least since you seem to be picking it up pretty quick."

"There's only the one opening," Xander pointed out with a grin, sliding over what looked like the appropriate paperwork and evading a real answer. "Seems like my work here is done."

Looking over the papers, Ellen chuckled. "And thank you for it, Xander. It's nice to do business with you." She signed where appropriate and handed them back.

"Same here. New, but nice." It took a minute to figure out which of the keys in the drawer were apartment keys and which were keys to rooms he hadn't even explored yet, but eventually he handed them across to her, along with a card-key. "Looks like you get your choice of high or low tech." He pointed. "Elevator's that way, if you want to check it out."
