Caritas, Wednesday Evening [OPEN]

Jarod was at work. No, really, he was there. The fact that Tino was manning the bar and the band had taped themselves together--well, Jaye was leaving town today. Any rumors of the zombies being taped to Tino in a feat of distractedness on Jarod's part and him being made to sit down at the end of the bar, away from the tape, were surely exaggerated and started by squirrels who were out to get revenge on Jarod for some imagined slight.

Except for the part where Jarod was down at the end of the bar, nursing a cherry Coke and, presumably, waiting for Jaye.

Isabel was just finishing up her errands in town when she noticed Caritas was open and decided to pay a visit to her favorite bartender.

"Hey," she said taking the seat next to him. "What's up? How are you?"

"Jaye's leaving," he said, frowning slightly.

"I know," Isabel said simply. "I stopped by earlier."

"So, how are you? I haven't seen you in a while," he stated, signaling for a soda for Isabel, as well.

She went with the subject change because she'd used a similar distraction technique many times herself. "I'm good. I've been keeping busy. Mostly just hanging out with people. I went bowling last night."

"Bowling?" He hadn't been, and might have to rectify that at some point. "Alone? That seems like a group activity."

"Peter and I went," Isabel smiled. "It eventually became less about actually bowling and more about showing off using my alien-fu. But we still had a lot of fun."

After everyone's cleared out of her room, Jaye comes to Caritas because she has to, dropping her stuff at the end of the bar. "Hey," she says, waving a little.

Anakin slid into a seat next to her. "I couldn't let you leave without saying goodbye," he said quietly, waving Tino over and ordering two shots.

"Bar again," she notices, putting her ant farm on top of the bar and patting it.

"Well, I tried the bowling alley first," he teased, passing her the shot, "and the library. I figured if I'm not giving you boykissy or shirtlessness, I can at least get you a few drinks."

And wow, this sucked. He didn't want her to go, but he needed to let her go and experience and grow, but again with the missing her. "So."

"I could follow you, but that would be vaguely stalker-ish and you'd probably try to have me arrested," Jarod sighed. Not that it would definitely stop him, but it was a deterrent.
