Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

GOB was looking kind of sad. Not only did his sudden date with Emma earlier not go the way he wanted, but nobody remembered his birthday yesterday.

The fact that he forgot too, was completely irrelevant.

And that's why GOB was throwing himself a birthday party at the bar tonight as advertised with a sign outside. The fact that there had been no advertising of the party aside from that sign probably wasn't going to help matters at all. GOB hadn't thought this through at all.

Happy belated birthday, idiot.

[OOC: If you wish to participate in the actual birthday proceedings, don't worry if you have no present. GOB didn't warn anyone. He'll gladly accept whatever random crap you have on you.

If you wish to ignore the birthday proceedings, feel free to do that, too. GOB will just be a miserable bastard at you.]

There are two tables for presents set up by the bar. Because GOB believes that many people will give him those presents. It's sad.

Willow brought in a present (http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=513) that was both wrapped in shiny paper and possibly picked out due to the appropriateness of the name.

Molly came in with John to talk to GOB and spotted the tables set up for presents. Feeling a bit guilty for crashing a birthday party, she left half a bag of popcorn that she hadn't finished at the music festival. She didn't put that it was from her though.

John left half a pack of gum next to the popcorn. It was the right thing to do.

Sing a song just for GOB.

Willow looked around to see if she could say hello to the birthday boy.

GOB wasn't sure why Willow seemed to be looking for someone around the stage area, but, dammit, today was about him so she was going to have to talk to him. He walked over. "Welcome to the party!" he greeted.

Willow waved ~~and headesked~~. "Hi! Happy Birthday plus one!"

"Thanks," GOB said. "You know, I never really thought of us as close before, but now I guess I have a reason to. Thanks for coming." GOB had no clue that Willow's declaration of closeness earlier was not intended for him. He couldn't help but wonder if she was going to kiss a girl as part of her present, though.

"Of course we're close!" Willow said. "You gave extra credit to me!"

Willow still hadn't figured out she wasn't getting extra credit yet. Or regular credit for that matter.

"Oh, yeah. That was a very..." GOB now considered Willow to be a friend. He didn't know how to tell a friend that her report featuring pictures of animal sex was creepy and that he threw it in the water. "... informative report. It was a good read."

Willow beamed. "You liked it? Really? Because I could make another one!"

"No!" GOB said quickly. "That's fine. We only have a little bit left in the session, you shouldn't have to worry about it."

"Are you sure?" Willow asked. "It's no trouble."

"Well..." GOB said. He was about to make a terrible mistake. "We both know I'm an illusionist. Write about illusion and magic with sex."

"Really?" Willow asked. "Oh yay! Because I know all these spells but I have really been able to get credit for them before!"

"Really?" GOB asked. "What kind of spells?"

"Well there's this one called 'invisible hand' that comes in, well, handy," Willow said.

"Really?" GOB asked. "You'll get double extra credit if you include instructions. Just in the name of being thorough, I mean." There would be no extra credit, let alone double extra credit.

"Absolutely!" Willow said. "There'll be pictures too!"

As always, Willow's concept of what these pictures would be probably did not match GOB's.

"I can't wait," GOB said. He really wanted to try the spells out.

Fortunately for the world, even if he were given explicit instructions on how to do any magic, was given magical ability, and had the time to get everything right, he'd still screw it up somehow and fail to achieve any magic. It's the Way of GOB.

"Yay!" Willow said. "I'll bring it to Monday's class."

"That will be another great belated present," GOB said proudly.

"Consider it done," Willow promised.

GOB's totally making Tino do all of the actual work in honor of his birthday. Belated.

Not that this was any different than any other night.

Molly walked up to the bar with John and gave GOB a big smile. "Happy birthday, Mr. Bluth!"

"Thanks," GOB said. "And welcome to the greatest party Fandom has ever seen."

It really wasn't. "Well, soon it will be." No, it wouldn't.

"Right. Because it's your party naturally it'll be great." John said, hoping to flatter. "We had a business proposition for you, Mr. Bluth."

Molly nodded. "It's really a great opportunity for you," she said. "When we thought of the idea, you were the first person I suggested we go to because you're such a successful businessman and would see what a great idea it was." She purposefully left out the part where John had suggested asking Turtle first.

"I don't have room for any other bartenders right now," GOB said. "You could be janitors if you want, I guess."

"Oh, we don't want jobs, Mr. Bluth. We want to offer you the opportunity to sponsor one of the Fandom High Flag Football teams," John said.

"It would be free advertising at every game!" Molly added.

"It's not really free if I'm paying to sponsor you," GOB pointed out. "And why should I pay anything? Everyone already knows about Caritas."

"Not free, but better than seeing your competition's name on our uniforms," John said reasonably.

"We're stopping at Lucifer's after this," Molly said. "He could really use the advertising."

"Yeah, he could. Loser," GOB said, laughing at his not-quite pun.

And then it hit him. "Wait. He's not getting your advertising! I'm in."

John grinned, "Cool! I think you'll be pleased with the Blue Team."

Molly clapped happily. "Oh, thank you, Mr. Bluth! I knew you'd see what a good idea it was."

"All I know is that you better leave good presents for me," GOB said sourly.

John glanced at the table and quickly said, "Sure thing, Mr. Bluth. Thanks again. We'd better get going, right Molls?"

Molly also glanced guiltily at the presents table. "Uh, yeah. Stuff to do." She grinned at GOB again and took a couple steps back.

"Be sure to give me info on what I have to do," GOB said to the retreating teens.

"We'll call you with details," John said with a wave as they exited the bar.

GOB made Tino go out and get the biggest cake he could find. Tino came back with a dozen cupcakes.

Tino could have gotten an actual, large cake, but he hated GOB.

Get away from the birthday boy. Belated.

He's making a terrible mistake, more than likely.
