Fast Eddies, Saturday Night [Birthday party for Anders]

Bel was busily trying to set things up for Anders's surprise birthday party. He'd ~~handwavily~~ picked up a cake earlier, along with a bunch of pizzas. Phoebe wasn't feeling very well, but she was supposed to bring Anders there at 7:30, or just send him down if she wasn't feeling up to it.

The Underworld wasn't big on parties. Bel was a little out of his element here.

Chat and munch on moddable snacks. No booze, though, unless you brought your own.

And for some strange reason, this comment won't post. WTF, LJ, WTF?

Okay, so Prue was still feeling kind of guilty about being mean to Anders when he didn't deserve it. So she showed up a little early to see if she could help. She just, you know, thought that Phoebe was going to be there too.

"Uh..."

Bel turned around from eyeing some balloons and wondering if they were too girly and saw Prue. "Um," he said eloquently. "Hey."

"Hey. I, um, came to help out with the whole party thing." she said. "So...need help?"

Lana showed up to lend a hand. "Hi Bel, what can I do?"

"Sure," Bel said, giving Prue a wary look as if he expected a trap of some sort. He pointed. "That bag over there has plates and napkins and stuff. Can you put them on the table by the pizza?"

"Hey, Lana," Bel greeted her, smiling. "Can you get the soda from the bags and set it up over there?"

"Of course," Lana said and began setting things out. "So, you got roped into this, huh? What did you do to make that happen?"

"Phoebe's not feeling well," Bel said with a slight frown. "She's on distraction duty anyway, but hopefully she'll feel up to coming. She wanted it to happen whether she was here or not."

Even with the incredible domination of awkward the last time Mac had spoken to Anders, she was still here. She figured part of that 'lets try to be friends' agreement, probably involved showing up for birthday celebration.

She wasn't looking especially comfortable, that was just what social occasions did that to her, and was stood off to one side fiddling with her glass of lemonade.

"Oh dear," Lana said looking concerned. "I didn't know she was sick. Is there anything I can do?"

"It's nothing serious, don't worry," Bel hastily assured her. "She's just got a nasty headache. Believe me, I'd haul her down to the clinic if it was something bad."

"Okay, that I can do." said Prue. The whole party stuff was mostly Piper's forté. Prue waved her hand at the bag and it floated over to where she was. She grabbed it and walked over towards the pizza table.

"Oh good," Lana said with some relief. "I know you take good care of her, but I still worry. Maybe I'll ~~handwavily~~ bring her some tea when I get home if she doesn't make it tonight."

Bel snorted. "Show off," he said.

"She'd appreciate that," Bel said. "So what have you been up to lately?"

"Work, classes, cheerleading, and Jim," Lana said with a grin. "Not necessarily in that order. Though, Jim's away on that field trip this weekend."

Strangely enough, Mac didn't put a name to her gift (http://www.manicpanic.com/gothkit.html). She had a feeling Anders might guess she'd been the one to leave that one, anyway.

Wilson was one of the later arrivals, pager in tow along with a present. He couldn't miss this after all.

"Yeah, Anders was supposed to go on that, but he stayed here because it was his birthday," Bel said.
