Selkie Cove: Friday Morning [7-6-07]

After saying goodbye to Jim out on the Causeway, Lana had made her way over to her favorite thinking spot at the Cove. She'd set Jim's alarm clock for an hour earlier than he had to get up, just so they'd have a little extra time together, but it was over far too soon.

She sat and watched the water and the few high clouds in the sky, remembering how tightly he'd held her, the words he'd whispered, and how she'd watched till the cab disappeared in the distance.

A week. Maybe. And then he'd be back. He had to come back.

With a sigh, she wrapped her arms around her legs and rested her head on her knees. Maybe she could just stay out here till he came back.

It was early, but Johnny knew that Jim was leaving and it was important to him to find Lana. He had made a promise and he'd be damned if he wasn't sticking to it.

He searched everywhere that he could think of and wandered out to the very last place he'd think someone would go to be alone. And sure enough, he found her there, head on knees, looking all kinds of sad.

Johnny didn't say anything, he just walked over and sat down next to her, wrapping his own arms around his legs and staring out at the water.

"Morning, Lana," Johnny returned, smiling softly at her. "He did, yes. Do you mind?"

"I'm sure you do," he continued in that soft monotone, "But I'm here, so you can look at me all you want." His attempt at humor, really. Might just be too early in the morning for it.

"I know. But see? I like the water. I think it's pretty. I come out here and sit all the time," Lie! "It...moves me."

He gave her a shy, if not winning smile, and said, "Once including now."

Johnny tried not to think very much. He just wasn't a deep thinker sort of guy. Didn't mean he couldn't appreciate others who did.

"It's a nice spot. Might have to come out here more often." He could bring a girl and they could have a nice private time and...

He grinned at her. "Eat breakfast yet?"

(ooc: I got ten minuts till I leave!)

"That's too bad," Johnny said and pulled out the brown paper bag he had brought with him. Inside were two huge brownies from J,GOB that he'd grabbed on the way over when he'd been hoping he would run into her.

Shoving his hand down into the bag, he took out one brownie and with a wink at her, took a big bite.

"A little later and there won't be any brownies left. I'm a growing boy, Lana." Johnny said, taking another big bite of his brownie.

She was going to make this difficult, wasn't she?

Johnny gave her a stern look. "Lana, I will strap you down and sit on you and force feed you if I have to. I brought chocolate milk too. Now," he reached into the bag and brought out the other brownie and forcefully put it in her hand. "Eat this or or in 1.5 you're gonna feel the heat from The Human Torch."

(ooc: I forgot to say no worries! RL can get to you sometimes! *g*)

"Fine. Shoot me down while I'm up. Way to start my morning. Maaan!" He dropped the brownie back into the bag and added his half eaten one and shoved the bag back behind him.

"Who? Beltha -- oh, Phoebe's boyfriend?" The Von Doom look alike guy. "He can't hurt me, just so you know." He looked at her and raised his brows, shrugging. "Just sayin'."

"Okay. Eating is shot to the wind right now, I will totally drop it. But just as long as you eat sometime today." He said, peering over at her.

Johnny blinked. "Fire won't hurt me. Hell's made of fire right? Think they got fire chicks there?"

"That sounds great, Lana," Johnny said, smiling at her.

"I would torch the giant snake monsters before they ever had a chance to get near me." He said with confidence. Although this talk of hell was making him feel all icky. "I'm not going to hell. Nope."

"Tasers? I've no need for them, why do you ask?"

[identity profile] fantastic-torch.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Sweetheart, that taser won't affect me," he replied softly. "And am I not minding myself? I'm being totally good here, just staring at the ocean and all and...stuff."

[identity profile] fantastic-torch.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Pfft, what's that nonsense? You deserve all kinds of niceness." He said, nudging her shoulder with his.

[identity profile] fantastic-torch.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm done with ocean watching when you're done with ocean watching," he said kindly. "And if you're done then we can walk slowly around in circles staring up at the sky and see who gets dizzy first."

"Okay, that sounds good." Johnny would most likely park his but outside her door, too.
