Magic Box, Tuesday
Andrew rushed to the Magic Box after his class. He was opening it a bit late, but he had switched shifts with Mr. Giles this week and was told that it was okay.
Unlocking the door, he ran back behind the counter and quickly adopted that "lulled into boredom" look that often comes with hours of uneventful work.
The Magic Box is open for all your witching and wizarding needs!

The Magic Box being one of his eventual stops.
"Andrew! You got the lead!" He exclaimed as he careened through the door, perhaps looking more bouncy and well ... teenagery than ever before.

it didI thought."He recalled the moment he saw the flier with the casting announcement; he had wanted to scream with delight and run and hide in fear.

Neil just couldn't quite bring himself to bald face address that singing bit as fantastical but at the same time he wanted to be supportive of Andrew and that showed in the way he bounced on his toes.
"If you need any help learning lines or anything..."

He regarded the excited boy before him, "At least you'll be there with me at rehearsals." Andrew wouldn't admit it, but he was crazy nervous about the whole thing.

"At your service, Sirrah!" He said playfully.
Straightening, the grin was still evident on his face, reaching all the way up into brown eyes.
"We can practice up in my room, so we don't disturb Bart if you'd like and of course I'll be there!"
In fact, he was rather looking forward to having an activity outside of classes which he could share witn Andrew.

"So about tonight, is there anything in particular I should think about bringing to practice? I, um, I've never actually been on the acting side of things when it comes to theater. Should I wear all black? Bring some water and lemon juice?"
His smile turned into a bit of a grimace.

Neil made a face of his own at the thought.
"We'll probably just get introductions and go over the script tonight and the director might have a rehersal schedule laid out, like what days we're going to work on which scenes, days we might do only singing, etc. It should be pretty laid back and informal for right now."
no subject
"So what do you know about the directors? Think they're going to be okay guys?"
no subject
"I didn't get a chance to meet the director, Troy but A.J. is in one of my classes, my comic book hero class to be exact and he's a really okay guy."

"Do you think we'll be suspended from wires at any point during the play? I would so love that. I always imagine that people suspended from wires get huge wedgies, though. But it would be so worth it." He laughed.
no subject
"I don't know, I guess it will depending upon what the show calls for, though I don't know how I feel about wedgies."
He grew up in a boys' school, wedgies were particularly viscious forms of squabbling.

"I'm afraid I don't aspire to anything quite so lofty. Now, I do dream of doing theater, I mean for like my life's work. Being up on the stage, inhabiting the mind and skin of some one totally different from myself, living their life, even if it's just on the boards for a couple of hours but being able to weave a story that draws the audience in and knowing they're on that journey with me? That's what I dream about. That sort of freedom to live creatively."

"I ... I don't know that there is a particular character I want to be. It's not so much that I want to be another person, I just like being able to take on the role and make the story as a whole come alive for other people."
Looking up, he seemed a bit perplexed.
"Does that make sense?"
no subject
"I just hope some of that passion rubs off," Andrew added, staring up the boy he admired a little more every day.

"It's bound to after the 100th time you have to peel me off the walls because I'm bouncing around like a dork."
Sobering a bit, he walked over to Andrew and after only a brief hesitation, lifted his hands in a motion to touch both of the other boy's shoulders.
"Listen, the most and only important thing about stage work is for you to have fun. It doesn't matter if everything isn't perfect. It's not reasonable to imagine it will be, we're all human after all. What is important is to be enjoying yourself, cause then, no matter what happens everybody audience and fellow castmates alike are up there enjoying themselves with you."
Grinning he bounced on his toes a little.
"And you seem the sort to be enjoying yourself. So I think we're covered, right?"
no subject
"Yeah, I'm totally the sort to enjoy myself," closing his eyes and bending his head to press a cheek against one of Neil's hands in appreciation.
"This is gonna be hell'a fun."
no subject
It was that or give in to the urge to stroke the other boy's cheek with a finger tip.
"Yeah, a heck of a lot of fun," he agreed, latching on to that for safety.
Stepping back, before he did anything stupid, Neil ran his hands through his hair.
"So, I better let you get back to work and I'll see you tonight at rehersal!"

Andrew watched Neil exit and stood there, gazing a the door for a while.

"Did you need anything in particular?" Andrew picked up a jar labeled Rose and Essence of Munk Fish.
"This one is great if you're trying to summon a vorhee demon."
