Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

After having Tino melt down tiny chocolate figures in the shape of gnomes, GOB had Tino hang up a sign:

SPECIAL TONIGHT!
Chocolatinis for the price of a martini without chocolate!

After telling Tino to do all that work, GOB was exhausted so he had a chocolatini for himself. It was good.

[OOC: One of my characters is literally profiting off my other character's misery. I should be ashamed of myself.]

The zombies keep playing Mandy Moore's "Candy" over and over tonight. They got an idea in their heads about chocolate and it all went downhill from there.

Where chocolatinis flow like chocolate martinis!

For a little bit of privacy.

For OOCness.

Robin had had enough chocolate tonight, his tummy hurt. But he was here anyway. Surely there was something that could settle his stomach.

"Hi everyone, I hope you're not letting the world get you down.

Take this green ribbon off my eyes

"What'll you have?" GOB asked. It concerned him that he no longer found the thought of asking that question to a small frog to be weird.

"Alka seltzer?"

The chocolatinis almost looked good enough to throw three months of sobriety out the window. Fortunately, Mary had her fill of chocolate at the festival so she was able to resist the temptation.

"Club soda with lime, please."

"Hey, Tino!" GOB called out "Alka seltzer for the frog!"

When Tino brought over a fizzling glass over, GOB asked, "That doesn't have any weird affects on frogs, does it? It doesn't make you explode or anything?"

"Of course," GOB said with a smile. He actually got the drink together himself. "Here you go. So, did you have fun on Sunday?"

"Not Muppet frogs." he said. "It might make me burp though, so excuse me in advance."

"Well, I have no complaints about my dates. They were all very charming, even Deadpool," said Mary. "I'm just trying to figure out how I ended up getting matched with a student." Never mind that she'd already gone out with the student in question. Mary was still having trouble with the idea.

"It's because we had a weird number of guys and you're not teaching anything," GOB said. "Also, it was Tino's fault."

"I didn't know frogs could burp," GOB said.

There was once a time that Mary would have been freaked out by seeing a frog drinking in a bar. Of course, that was before she'd played poker with Robin at the chocolate festival.

"Great song!" she said, beaming. "Wish I had the courage to get on stage and sing."

"Well, you'll have to thank Tino for me because Johnny was also very charming as well. I had no complaints," said Mary, getting a very dreamy sort of look in her eyes.

"Well I can't speak for regular frogs, but ones like me can. My younger brother won't stop burping. But he's only ten so he still thinks it's cool."

"Thanks!" he beamed. "I love to sing. My dad says I take after my Uncle Kermit a lot." He tilted his head quizically. "You should try it." he nodded. "I could go with you if you think it'd help."

"I'm forty and I know burping's cool," GOB stated completely seriously.

Mary looked nervously at the stage. "I don't know," she said. "Getting up and speaking in front of a crowd kinda freaks me out. Forget singing in front of a crowd."

"Maybe you could start small. Just sing in front of friends, and make them sing too so you wouldn't be the only one."

GOB hated when he blamed Tino for something that ended up being a compliment. He sipped his chocolatini.

"I'm glad you didn't have any complaints," GOB said. "I think it was another successful event that you only get here at Caritas." GOB was in advertising whore mode at the moment, it seemed.

"That sounds like a plan," said Mary. "I did something like that when I tried to conquer my fear of stand-up comedy. I brought my boss to an open mic night at a comedy club. He didn't like any of my jokes, though. Maybe it was because my jokes were about bad bosses?"

"And I'm sure it was one of your brilliant ideas," said Mary, grinning.
