Groovy Tunes; Monday [ 09/03 ]

It only took about three seconds of leaning (carefully) on the counter when Chad came in for work after his Monday class before he was asleep. Not even the choice of music was keeping him awake after the very, very long night last night.

Thankfully, Prince Oscar Pedro Neko-kun (pause) the Third, Chad's hairless kitten, was there, standing proudly on the counter and mewing in eager anticipation to help anyone who came in.

Most likely, this help would be nothing more than purring at that and trying to rub against them to get ear scritches, but he was still being more helpful than Chad at the moment.

Today's music: lots and lots of loudy, screamy metal. That Chad is still sleeping through.

Might we recommend a very large stick and a lot of patience? He might wake up.

Andrew felt a little overwhelmed looking about the store, so he went to the counter to see if he could get a little help. He smiled at the cat like creature, but didn't pet it. It looked like something he had just read about in Reinhart's Bedside Compendium of Demonic Critters.

"Um, excuse me?" He didn't speak too loudly, figuring he could just come back later if the guy was really sleeping.

And Chad was really sleeping. He hadn't gotten any sleep in over a day, which, for Chad, was a really long time.

Prince Oscar Pedro, however, was not, and he saw Andrew's smile and responded happily, positively, with a little bounce and a chorus of meows that sounded conversational, but whatever the kitten was saying was anyone's guess.

"Aww, you are too cute," Andrew responded to the little critter, reaching out to rub it behind the ears.

"Are you a little demony-wemony? If you are, you are the sweetest wittle demony-wemony I've every seen."

The sweetest wittle demony-wemony who wasn't actually a demony-wemony (but he could understand where one might come from on that) at all was reduced to nothing but a hairless pile of purrs.

Andrew giggled at the critter and gave it a few more good rubs. He glance over at Chad and said, "Well take good care of sleeping beauty over there little guy. I'll just come back some other day."

And with that, he turned to leave the store.

Jeff came running into the store, as was his wont. "Chad!" he shouted, excitably, saw that Chad was asleep, paused, noticed the cat, and continued, "Prince Oscar Pedro! I've got a sister!"

Prince Oscar Pedro let out a very happy meow for Jeff because that was good news indeed! Chad, still somewhat asleep, but excited shouting penetrating through his awareness, let out a sort of grunting groan, which made Prince Oscar Pedro meow at Jeff excitedly again to explain that Chad was kind of dead right now and therefor not very fun. And then he decided that it was time to lick Jeff's face, and leaned forward in an attempt to do so.

Jeff grinned past a nose full of cat saliva. "I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit you much, Prince Oscar Pedro," he said, "It's just I got sort of preoccupied with the girlfriend and the closets and everything."

Prince Oscar Pedro, happily nose licking, didn't seem to mind too terribly at all.

Flopsy, Mopsy, and...that other one are still there to be played with while Prince Oscar Pedro is a very responsible clerk kitty today, and the music booths are always open.

I feel no shame in plaguing your friends list with P.O.P. MWA HA HA.

Also, I work from 11 am to 6;30 pm EST, so apologies for being unable to ping back in that time frame!
