Pizza Planet, Saturday Night

Having remembered that he has a clinic shift tomorrow night, Ronan had called Bo to see if he was available tonight for their date, instead. So, here he was, waiting for Bo to show up for their date. He was totally not nervous at all. Of course not, why would you ask that?

Bo was a few minutes late and still had a grease smear on the back of his hand, along with a rather sheepish kind of look. "Howdy," he greeted the other boy with one of his trademarked good ol' boy grins and a tilt of his head as he slid into the booth across from him.

"Hey," Ronan replied, grinning. "Glad you could make it." He gestured at the menu. "So, how do your tastes run for pizza?"

Bo shrugged. "I'm pretty easy."

"Want to split a Hawaiian, then?" Ronan asked.

"Sure," Bo said easily. "What's on it?"

"Ham and pineapple." Ronan grinned. "It's pretty good. The sweetness of the pineapple balances well with the tomato sauce."

"Pineapple?" Bo sounded doubtful about this whole idea.

Laughing, Ronan nodded. "Yeah, pineapple. Trust me, it's better than it sounds."

"Alright," Bo said reluctantly. "I'm trustin' ya on this one."

"You won't be disappointed, trust me," Ronan said. When the waiter came by, he put in the order, asking for a cola to go along with it. He looked towards Bo, wordlessly asking what he wanted to drink.

"Jus' water's fine," Bo said, lifting a hand as if to wave him off. "Uncle Jesse says that stuff rots your teeth. Don't know how he knows, never drinks it himself."

Ronan nodded at the waiter, who took off with their order. "Yeah, it's not exactly the healthiest, but I like the taste, and it goes well with pizza."

"'Spose it does at that." Bo absently rubbed his hand on his jeans, transferring the engine grease without doing much to get rid of it.

Ronan noticed the engine grease, but thought it was kind of cute and didn't comment on it.

"So, how was your day?" he asked instead.

"Good!" Bo said enthusiastically. "One of them go-karts where I work wasn't working right, but I got her going again, no problem."

"... There are go-karts on the island?" Ronan is half-surprised, half-intrigued, and all-oblivious. "That's cool! So, you're good with machines, then?"

Bo nodded. "World o' Wonders Mini-Golf and Go-Karts," he pronounced carefully. "Yeah, got a real thing for cars 'specially but I'm generally good with my hands."

Ronan nodded. "I may have to check that out, then," he said. "At least the go-karts. Is the mini-golf course any good?"

"Haven't given it a try yet, but looks alright. Just started workin' there a few days ago."

"Oh, cool." He grinned. "Good thing for your boss, then, that you're around now to fix the go-karts. I'll definitely have to come by and check those out... so, what other days do you work? Or is it just Saturdays?"

"Usually just Thursdays. Jus' had nothing to do today."

Ronan laughed. "So you decided to go into work? You're dedicated." Grinning, he continued, "Yeah, like I mentioned, I'm working at the clinic. Sundays and Wednesdays."

"I'm starting to miss my car," he admitted. "Closest I could get."

"Didn't bring it, then?" Ronan asked. "Sounds like you're pretty close to it."

"Uncle Jesse wouldn't let me," he sighed. "Said I'd get into too much trouble."
