Anakin was in a fantastic mood this evening.

This had absolutely nothing to do with alum who may or may not be arriving tomorrow.

He was out in the park with a ball and hyperactive, flying vampire puppy.

You might have to look twice. Anakin Skywalker was actually laughing.

Creepy.

Anakin shrugged. "I'm not going to push it. It has to be her decision."

Rose nodded, "Yeah, 's true. Good for you, I've had a lot of men in my life both those I've loved and not loved who keep makin' decisions for me, its frankly annoying. You're a wise man, Charlie Brown."

"It's taken me long enough," Anakin admitted ruefully.

"Hey," Rose said, softly, "at least you got there, yeah?" Her expression darkened and muttered, "Unlike some 900 year old aliens I know."

Anakin snorted. "I never liked him much," he said. "Either incarnation."

Rose laughed ruefully, "I keep forgetting you knew him, or at least versions of him. But neither men you met was mine. My Doctor." She looked away, her expression hard to see, "But, yeah, in both lives he can be a bastard. I used to love needling him."

"I'm glad I can fill in for him in that capacity," Anakin teased gently.

That got a smile out of Rose, "Yeah, I think you'll do, 'least you both have a penchant for black and you both pout, still, you've got to work on soundin' a bit Northern, or Estuary English accent." She scratched Vladdie behind the ears and looked at him, "you're been a good friend, Old Man.

"I'm glad you think so," he said quietly.

"I do," Rose said, "things back home have been so... I'm glad there's always this place to escape too." She pulled back her hand and looked at it, "you never really think your hands can get so dirty."

"Literally or metaphorically?" Anakin asked.

Rose laughed, it sounded bitter even to her ears, "Both, neither, who really knows now. For the greater good, innit?"

"You're bringing this up with the ethics teacher," Anakin said with a small smile. "Do you really want to go down that path?"

Rose laughed, shaking her out of the mood, getting her back to her senses.

"You're right, we'll probably be old an' gray when you're through!"

"And I'd give you the abridged version," Anakin said. "My old teacher didn't let death stop him from giving me lectures. I'm not quite that dedicated.'

"Thank goodness for small blessings." Rose said then grinned, "This is the handsome teacher, right?"

"Ask Jaye," Anakin said, returning the grin. "I never really saw it myself."

Rose laughed, "'Course, bet you had your own fan club back when. Gettin' a bit late and I haven't turning wolf in a while--" she paused, nope no wolf, "you headin' back to town soon?"

"I need Vladdie to run off a bit more energy," Anakin replied. "I'll see you around?"
