Xander has glittery signs on the door and coffee and doughnuts on the counter for anybody who comes in, but he almost seems more interested in his laptop -- and the unhelpfully negative e-mails he's reading from his contacts in Watchers' Council 2.0 regarding any recent surges in vampire activity on the east coast of the US -- than consuming mass quantities of heavily-sugared lardbombs. Whoa.

Or it could be that he's just had three already and is giving them a chance to settle before he goes back for seconds.

After getting Xander's phone call, Mel headed over to MCA to follow up on what happened.

"More Lurks?" She asked as she entered the room.

"Anakin said he killed three in the graveyard last night," Xander answered, looking up from his laptop.

"They just didn't happen to blurt out the reason why they're in Fandom, did they?" Mel asked looking tired.

"Don't think so - pretty sure Anakin would've mentioned it. He seemed mostly pissed that they interrupted his walk, and wanted to know if I knew anything."

"What did you tell him?" Mel said grumpily. "Other than the dead keeps waking up and trying to bite people and we don't know where they're coming from."

"That there was only the one so far and we'd been hoping to find its boss before there were any more." Xander shrugged. "That's all I could tell him, 'cause it's all I know."

He pointed at the computer. "I checked with the grown-up Watchers' Council versions of a few of the people around here, to see if they'd heard about anything headed our way, but no joy."

"Did they say anything about the weather coming our way?" Mel asked. "Because I'd rather not patrol in the rain."

Xander raised an eyebrow. "I didn't ask. But weather channel says--" He flipped to another tab on his laptop. Then raised the other eyebrow. "100% chance of miniature knights?"

After her class, Dawn came in bearing coffee and doughnuts. Many of those doughnuts were of the jelly variety. "Helloooo?"

"Oooh. I'll trade you bearclaw for jelly!" Xander's coffee was sadly long gone by this time, so he couldn't offer exchanges on that one.

"Oooh, bearclaw," Dawn set her bag on the counter, "Okay. Got a mug? I'll share coffee since I'm kinda cutting back since Rikku and Luke and I practically OD'ed on Jolt." Because that was all that happened that weekend, yes.

Xander dug a mug out from behind the counter. Yes, it did have the NSEA logo on it. Shut up. "Yeah. Sadly not another wacky voicemail mixup day."

Dawn poured half of her coffee into the mug. "Do we have a plan?"

"Thanks." Xander snaked a jelly doughnut out of the box. "Try to track these things, I'm thinking. And/or beat the 411 on who the big bad is out of the next one we come across."

He made a face. "I miss the days when we could go put the squeeze on Willy the Snitch."

Dawn took a bite of bearclaw and considered as she chewed. "Could import him."

"You think whoever runs Portalocity has, like, an interdimensional classified ads? Wanted, one Willy the Snitch, timeline optional unless it's the one where the Master won, no vampires need apply?"

He paused though and blinked at the signs. "That is a lot of glitter."

"Glitter's kind of an attention-getter around here," Xander pointed out. "Though...usually not for anything that has to do with what I'm selling, admittedly."

"You doubt my glitter-wielding skill?" Xander placed a shocked hand over his heart. Even though Willow made the sign.

"Morelike I don't actually want to picture you wielding glitter," Giles replied. "I'd have to reaccess the level of camp you indulge in."

"I...used to teach it?" Xander offered. "There were pie-fights."

See, this is why Xander fails at being Gay Now, whatever Willow might say. Well, this, and his taste in clothes.

"Well, yeah. It was the unit on comic relief. We also had one on how to protect your doughnuts." Not that Xander was surreptitiously siding the box on the counter towards him.
