Caritas, Saturday evening

Still half-preparing for the tide of newbies, D'Argo actually got to Caritas on time.

He caught the surprised look Tino gave him at that, and didn't even acknowledge it. Though D'Argo did tell him to tape the zombie drummer's arm back on.

Coraline dragged Lucas behind her into Caritas. She was determined to see the possibly musical brain eating zombies, and it wasn't hard to spot them once they arrived.

"Lucas, look!" She pulled him after her, stopping several feet away from the stage. The several feet was a safety precaution, in case one of them tried to eat her brain. Or Lucas'. "Zombies," she said, sounding deeply satisfied.

"Are you sure they're real zombies and not just in costumes?" He'd seen some strange things at Halloween parties in his time.

It was a good question. "There's only one way to find out," she said and stepped a bit closer. "Excuse me, are you real zombies?"

One of the zombies looked at her and gave a little grunting noise.

She looked over her shoulder at Lucas. "What do you think?"

Robin hopped up on stage and waved hello to everyone who was there. "Hi everybody! Happy new year to everyone, and welcome to all the new people! I really like this song, I hope you enjoy it too."

And see, on the second night here Brooke had to go out. Of course, upon coming in and seeing the stage, and then the bartender, she had to hope these cheesy theme nights were a once in a while thing or she might not come back here again.

Whenever Gavin found his way to Caritas, he always seemed to leave drunk and following Karal. He wondered if tonight would be the same.

"I don't know if I've ever seen you in this place," Gavin said once he'd spotted a familiar face. "Get bored in your room?"

Brooke looked over, deciding she kind of really liked this town, theme nights aside. "Well, a girl can't stay cooped up too long. Never know what you can get up to if left to your own devices," she said, and added, "Rather than just plain vices."

Luke wandered in the bar and grinned. "Hey, you," he said, moving his hand to ruffle her hair.

Well, that was a greeting Brooke hadn't expected. "Hey, watch it," she snapped, moving a hand to her hair to make sure it was still okay.

Seeing her at the bar, Lucas couldn't help giving Brooke a little wave. It would be rude not to.

It wasn't as cold this time, so Robin wasn't a Frogcicle when he came in, toting his banjo. "Hi! Happy New Year!"

Peter had missed the influx of new kids yesterday, largely due to hiding in his room because he was never fully comfortable with the massive groups of new people. Call it instinctual fear from his old superhero/masked menace days.

But he was thirsty. "I'll have a Coke, please."

"I didn't have to ask what you wanted, you threw off my whole routine," D'Argo said, getting his drink together and sliding it over. He was probably joking.
