Turtle & Canary; Sunday [1/27]

Doom was waiting for anyone... ANYONE... to try anything in the store today. Last week's shift annoyed him to no end and if anything even looked like it might approach that, there wouldn't be enough left over to bury. This was one of those rare times that he was wearing his gauntlets while working, just so he could react more quickly.

Today's Squishy flavors: Red, Grape Judas, Don't Even Think About It

That last one was kind of a minty flavor.

Turtle was not looking forward to this, which was why she came in late in the morning, wanting to just get it out of the way. She drew in a deep breath, settling a very disappointed look across the counter as she folder her arms in front of her to look at her hapless disappointment of an employee. "Victor..." she greeted him, with a warning tone that matched the steady look in her eye. She figured he could figure out what this was about.

As far as Turtle was concerned, she was feeling that Victor should just be glad his name was Fired right now. "What happened?" she asked, with a look that suggested that he'd better realize that she was being magnanimous by giving him a chance to support his case regarding the Incident.

Turtle let out a small, disgruntled sound, before sucking in a breath between her teeth. She fidgeted; having Victor mention the part about Mister Deadpool's voyeuristic approach to handling the situation that she'd gleaned from the tapes didn't settle well in her stomach. At all. In fact, it was probably the thing that had her so pissed off about the whole Event. "So," she said, slowly, eying Victor carefully for signs of bias, although that was pretty near impossible with that mask, "you claim to have had no hand in the start of the fight?" She blinked. "This...Summers guy...Mister Cable...he started it?"

Drawing in another breath, this time through biting down slightly on her lip in consideration, Turtle's strength melted slightly. "Well," she observed, "I guess I can hardly hold it against you for, at its simplest, defending the store. I guess, in a way, I should be appreciative, although I do wish you could have done it in a more....professional, less destructive fashion, Victor."

Turtle sighed heavily, though she nodded. "Okay," she said. "Good. Because next time something like that happens, I want you to handle in in a more...legalize way, by calling the troopers, having them dispose of the problem, so then it can be handled in the proper, respectable ways of the court system."

You know, the way that leaves her with some actual control over things and might even help her resume look better, and not leave her being stuck feeling grateful to Jamie for helping her clean up Victor's mistake.

"I'd appreciate that very much," Turtle said, making sure her voice was clear, distinct, and assertive as she nodded. "Thank you, Victor, and I do appreciate your efforts to defend the store. I'm just glad that it wasn't so bad that we couldn't get it all fixed up. I, of course, am going to have to still double check some of the references, make sure all the stories match, but, for today, I'm really sorry, but I'm going to stick around the store to keep an eye on things, just to be on the safe side."
