Luke's Diner; Wednesday [ 01/30 ]

A.J.? Sketching and drawing at the diner instead of working? Surely, you jest. But he did have a new, randomly purchased sketchbook to start filling up, you see...

Hot Chocolate

Luke's is open.

Annette came in for lunch. Or something. "Hey!"

"Nothing much. Just hungry and I knew you were working, so here I am!" she said, leaning her forearms across the counter. "What you working on there?"

"Ah, wish I could draw," she said though wouldn't mention her failed attempt at her girl. "Ummm, suggest something. But it has to be good. Really good. Like I'm so hungry this is perfect good."

"Yes! I want cheese on it," she was so predictable, really. "Will you join me?"

She laughed. "Yes, thank you, A.J."

"No mustard on mine," she said, looking down as he wrote. But his explanation of her drawing really, truly surprised her. "That's... wow. I'm impressed you see all of that in what I did, A.J. The lines were simple, I know it looked so elementary, especially compared to what you do. But... wow, thank you. Chocolate, please."

No, she didn't. She thought he was way cool in his assessment of her artwork. Annette giggled. "There is art in the milkshake, A.J.? Do tell."

And Annette had to wait until he turned off the blender before she could respond back, though the time did allow for her to think about what he said. "I see now. There are several different dances I know and yeah, they can be considered art. When done right, they're beautiful. Horseback riding also. It's amazing how you feel when you run a horse... and yeah, I guess lovemaking too," though she's not done any of that lately. And it was a cool thing to say because she could imagine it.

"I have complete faith, A.J.," she said, smiling at him. "Trust me in that." She took a healthy sip of her shake, declaring after she swallowed, "Omigod, it's perfect!"

"Which only means I will be in for more of these, and if I come in as much as I'm thinking I'm going to come in, I will get fat," she grinned.

"Yeah, well it just sounded like a girly thing to say and... I don't know if I'm doing football again."

"Why don't you do it?"
