When Robin wandered into Caritas on Thursday evening, Tino was nowhere to be found, but a note regarding his shunning of Robin was on the bar.

Evidently he'd discovered he'd have to work next Thursday for her.

[I am aroooooound but there is a new pet so replies might be a wee tad slow.]

"I made up the dingo thing," she admitted, "but there were dinosaurs here over the summer."

"Anytime," Romeo said, breathing a little rapidly from the embarrassment and exhilaration of actually singing in public. He wagged a teasing finger at Brooke. "Don't think I will make a habit of it."

"It's a bull," she said immediately. "A boy hippo."

"Even better," Fraser said, nodding. "We'll bond, I'm sure. So. what did you really get me?"

"Are you sure? It has only been two drinks?" she said.

For a moment Brooke stared at her.

And then she picked up her drink and gulped down the rest of it. Or at least, as much as she could.

"But it was a challenge, and I did it once," Romeo explained. But he had to smile, as he knew he'd do it again if she asked. "I suppose next time it will take five or six drinks. But that will not happen tonight, as it is time for me to get to bed. Would you like to walk with me?"

"A hippo," she said, nodding again. "Happy Valentine's, baby! Did you know that they kill more people than lions?"

"My thoughts exactly," Robin said, nodding sympathetically.

"I'd be glad to be your escort," Brooke smiled, finishing up her drink before putting it down.

"And you haven't gotten the hell out of dodge?"

"I..did not," he said, frowning at her. "I don't think I can keep a hippopotamus at my apartment. Diefenbaker tends to get jealous easily."

"You can protect me from the vagabonds who roam the streets of Fandom at night," he said, paying for the drinks and moving to help Brooke into her coat. "Come, let's away."

"I kinda like it here. And I wasn't here for the dinosaurs," she added. "I've just seen pictures. Plus I figure whatever comes along, I can either shoot it, or get really drunk later."

"Maybe a dingo?" she offered. "Friend for Dief?"

"Oh, don't tell me you go to the scary weapons place," Brooke said immediately, hoping there were no spears to be thrown.

"Did you watch the Discovery channel before you came to work?" Fraser asked.

"No, I read an article about cute animals that will kill you dead," she admitted.

"Scary weapons place?" Robin asked, raising a brow.

In the name of feeling better, Eve was off to celebrate. Which so totally meant drinking at Caritas. Pfft, like it ever meant anything else?

She approached the bar with a grin. "Surprise me."

She was clearly taking her life into her own hands here.

"Ah, then, let's avoid a dingo for my dog as I'd like for him to stay alive," Fraser decided. "And any other animals that might kill me. I'd also like to stay alive."

"The Arms place that isn't the hotel where people throw spears. Spears, and I repeat that, because it needs to be repeated."

"I do prefer you this way. I suppose that means I also can't interest you in a Japanese giant hornet?" Robin made a face. "I'm going to have nightmares of the YouTube video I watched on those. I'm warning you now. I'll wake up in the middle of the night freaking out about the bees being killed and you'll need to be reassuring and check the apartment for hornets, okay?"

Fraser...gaped. "I've no trouble being reassuring and protective from giant hornets but...wow."

Robin eyed the girl, shrugged, and decided to rise to the challenge.

She mixed Jäger, melon liquor, tequila and cranberry juice into a Homewrecker and set it before her. And then decided she'd make Tino clean it up if she didn't like it.
