Movie Sign Theater 3000, Friday Night

Now Showing:
Ensorcelled

Andrew was going to wait for everyone outside, but it was cold, so he stepped into the lobby.  He really hoped the movie was as good as the reviews he had read.

[ooc: for the date, the chaperons, and the movie going populace at large...]

Karal was not at all nervous as he walked into the lobby. At all. "Andrew!" he called, hurrying over to stand next to his friend. "Am I late?"

"Glory, that is a relief. I wanted to be here before Evey was," he explained. "In case she arrived after you but before Liir, so I could introduce you."

Evey got there on time. Or so she hoped -- she kept checking her phone as she walked through town to make sure, and halfway there nearly turned back to go get her heavier coat and maybe change into a skirt. She had no idea what one wore on a non-date.

In the end, her practicality won out, and she actually arrived punctually at the theater, which she found easily enough. Of course, now she just had to locate the others. It would be bad if she didn't find them. Or what if there was another theater? As such, she entered the lobby quietly, looking around carefully.

Karal, who'd been watching for her, hurried over to her side. "Here, we're here," he told her, in case she hadn't seen him. "I'm glad you came."

Evey smiled shyly, laughing softly. "Hello, Karal. I see you."

"Forgive me, I've never seen a movie in a theatre before," he said sheepishly, rubbing his temple with one finger. "I may be a bit excited."

He'd been back in his room, cleaning up a little and making sure he looked 'well'.

Which... how well could he be, at the moment?

He arrived last, feeling utterly terrible for doing just that, and hoped he hadn't missed the movie.

He nodded.

"I was just thinking in my room," he admitted. "And then I realized the time had flown and--"

He leaned up to press a kiss on Andrew's lips, quick and soft.

"Sorry."

It had taken him a moment's thought realise why Liir and Andrew should have the back, and then he was moving towards the front of the theatre. His steps slowed as he stared up at the screen. "Glory, it's so big!"

"It is," she agreed, her mouth quirking. "And when you sit close enough, it fills your vision entirely."

"Can we sit right at the front?" he asked, turning to look at her with hopeful eyes.

She had to smile. "All right. We'll have to lean back so we don't hurt our necks."

"Now... what is this one about again?" he asked skeptically.

"Singing and dancing?" It reminded him of some of the more ridiculous mutterings Elphaba had made concerning Munchkinland. Not that he knew, after all.

"Who's story is it?" he asked after a moment. "And how did they record it?"

Halfway through the movie, a certain Awesome professor may or may not have been seen tapping his foot and checking his watch impatiently while leaning against the wall outside the restrooms.
