Turtle & Canary; Sunday [2/10]

Doom was in a terrible mood. Not because of the failure of a plot to achieve great power. He could deal with that. He just shared Wexler's distaste for the store being so pink.

He knew that he couldn't get away with any more destruction of property for the time being, but that wasn't going to stop him from trying to rid himself of some of the pink. "INFERNAL DOG!" he said, speaking to Liz. "EAT THE DECORATIONS OR YOU WILL BE MADE INTO A THE WORLD'S FIRST BARKING BLENDER!" Liz didn't do that. And Doom wasn't going to turn her into a blender. But it felt good to yell.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Black, Really Black, Red So Dark That It Looks Black But Is Actually Red

It seemed to be a good counterpoint to all the pink.

He found the exhange between Doom and the dog amusing.

Doom did not share that opinion.

The pastel glory of Easter's going to be fun.

"I'll take mine Really Black."

Cable stood calmly by the counter, eyeing the Squishy machine in a way that would've been utterly idle if he didn't generally do so well at being present.

He smirked at Doom. In a slight and polite fashion. Really.

Doom signaled for Apu to prepare the Squishy. "If you have come to fight again, I gave Wexler my word that I would make an attempt to bring any battles outside the store," he said. "I would not be opposed to seeing some of these decorations caught in the middle of the beginnings of a fight, though."

"I'm not here to start a fight." Cable followed Apu's movements for a moment, then fixed a look on Doom. "I didn't think I'd ever see you working retail."

"Doom is a man of many surprises," he said. "Retail happens to provide some opportunities that would not otherwise be present."

"I can tell." He took a moment's glance up at the entire arrangement behind the counter. "So how is business, Doom?"

"Slow so far today. Beyond that, you would have to ask Wexler or G'Kar," Doom said. If he was speaking of any other form of business, Doom had no clue what he was talking about, really.

Peeps! Peeps everywhere! In sugary blues and yellows! Omg, it'll be hilarious.

*snerk*

"Of course." Cable's glance moved back down to Doom's mask. "'Slow' is good for all of us," he added, conversationally. "Especially in your line of business."

"I think Wexler and G'Kar would argue that point," Doom said. Innocently.

"Amongst others." He crossed his arms, and noted, calmly, "But not quite like this." He cast Apu a look.

Cable did kind of want that Squishy. "If I hear anything..."

"Anything such as what, Summers?" Doom asked. "Or should I say 'War'?"

"Not right now." Another glance over at Apu. "I hope you brought a bathing suit for that armor."

Apu - who had been trying not to get involved in the discussion by staying off to the side of it - finally put the Squishy on the counter.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Doom asked.

Cable just smirked, slapping a five dollar note on the counter. "Keep the change," he said, and took the Squishy.

Doom seriously had no clue what that was supposed to mean. He gave Apu a terrifying look to see if he knew. Apu just shrugged.

"Why would Doom need a bathing suit?" Doom asked. "His armor can survive underwater. It is rust-proof."

"Considering we're on an island, that's good planning."

After a moment of narrowing his eyes, Cable shot him his oft-practiced and yet unperfected Customer Service Smile, and added, "Have a nice day," before walking back towards the exit with his Squishy.

Doom turned to Apu after Summers left. "A bathing suit would imply recreation, wouldn't it?"

Apu understood the threat. He just didn't want to deal with explaining it to Doom.

Oh look, John ran out of cheesy snacks on a Sunday! He headed into T&C after practice and was surprised to see Doom working. "Hey Victor, busy week?"

"Call me Doctor Doom," Doom said. It was practically his catchphrase. "What do you want, Sheppard?"

"Mainly Doritos," John told him. "But since you're here, we ought to catch up. That's an awfully nice suit. Custom tailored?"

"Doritos are there," Doom said, pointing to the appropriate aisle. "And I created this armor myself, yes."

"Eh, I'll browse in a minute," John said, leaning on the counter. "So, I hear you're getting into some interesting stuff, like messing with the Jedi. Bold, Victor. Very bold."
