A week in California, and Anders wasn't any more tanned than he had been when he'd left. Still, he looked more relaxed than he had been before he left, if not particularly eager to be back.

He was even nice to Tino . . . well, okay, not necessarily nice, but he didn't greet him with any kind of putdown.

That might buy him an hour before he got an olive thrown at his head tonight.

After the couple of days Adam had back home, he just felt like getting out. Sidling up to the bar, he nodded at Anders. "Hey."

"Dude," Anders said, squinting at him and doing a terrible job of not being obvious about it, "there's something different about you but I can't tell what. Or I could just be crazy."

Adam let out a small laugh. "There might be," he admitted. "I wouldn't call you crazy."

"I'm going to go crazy if I can't figure out what it is," Anders announced.

Which meant he might very possibly be doomed to insanity.

Adam grinned, wondering if he should just tell him. "I wouldn't want that to happen," he admitted. Nothing like something sticking on your mind and being unable to figure it out.

Adam shrugged, throwing his hands up. "Guilty as charged," he chuckled. "It's not the hair."

Lana stopped in to visit Anders. She was looking pretty tanned and relaxed herself.

"Hey, you," Anders said, smiling at her. "You look like you had a good break."

"Got some sun, hung out on the beach," Lana said with a shrug. "It was nice. Of course, Chris was sick and couldn't come so I was pretty much on my own."

"Aw, that sucks," Anders said with a frown. "About Chris, I mean. The beach sounded fun, though."

"It was nice. And I got to see Mayan ruins," Lana said with a smile. "But mostly I just sunned on the beach with a good book."

Harry had managed to spend most of his spring break asleep. When he wasn't asleep, he'd been lounging or eating. It had been pretty great, really. But there was only so much of that Harry could take, apparently. Or maybe the talking skull had finally driven him out of his room for a while.

"Hey," he said, nodding to the guy behind the bar.

"Hey," Anders replied with a nod of his own. "You're . . . frak, dude, I can't remember your name, but what can I get you?"

"Harry," Harry offered. "My name. Not what you can get me. You're Anders right?" He was usually good with names. "And, uh, can I just get a coke?" He'd run out of cans in his room and this was somehow easier than buying more.

Anders chuckled. "I was about to say, I don't know of a drink off the top of my head called a Harry. You sure you want just a Coke? 'cause I can do this thing with a Coke and ice and a little lime in a blender that's really good, which isn't to say that I have anything against just regular Coke."

"I'll invent a drink for you, you can call it Harry. Get some extra credit in my cooking class or something." He had no intention of doing any such thing, but it sounded good. "And that sounds good. Why not?"

"Coke lime freeze it is!" From the way Anders bounced when he went to dump ingredients into the blender, it might be obvious that he had way too much fun making these. "Maybe I'll name this after you, if you like it."
