Groovy Tunes; Monday [ 03/17 ]

Eventually, Chad had come around to the fact that, somehow, in the course of events, he had missed a day, and today was Monday, which meant he had work today, so there he was. It was a little bit surreal, he had to admit, sitting behind a counter and flipping idly through a magazine after all that had happened. Surreal, but nice.

Today's mix: Couldn't Be More Random If I Tried

He was thinking he needed a mix specifically for when these things got concluded...

Teddy would certainly hope that he wasn't talking at him.

"Hey!"

Okay, that sound was definitely enough to make Chad lose interest in his magazine, closing it and nudging it aside, and then leaning forward on the counter to take the space the magazine previously occupied. And then some.

"Hey, you."

Teddy leaned in for a kiss. "What's up?"

Yeah, like Chad was going to leave him hanging for a kiss. He leaned down to give it and then answered, "Not much. Working. Glad all that weird stuff's over..."

"I think we all are," Teddy replied. "Next time we get invaded, it should be something fun. Like that singing thing."

"That singing thing?"

Chad had been through a lot of invasions. They both had. Sometimes, they just blurred in the consciousness.

"Last week?" Teddy said, looking down shyly. "In your room?"

"Oh, yeah. That. I don't really know if I'd call that an inva--"

And then Chad noticed Teddy looking down like that, blinked, and then remembered the singing thing.

"...Oh. Yeah. I'd be okay with more of that."

Teddy rubbed the back of his neck, still looking down a little. "So, um, did you get any calls about those go-sees?"

"Uh, no." There was a slight sagging of Chad's shoulders. "Not yet ~~because lol mun too busy~~. I don't know, maybe it takes a while normally? We'll have to see..."

"It probably does, not everything can be like the TV shows," Teddy replied quietly as he snagged hold of Chad's hand.

"Plus all that stuff's all prerecorded most of the time, and edited to make it look like less time," Chad said, with a slightly knowledgeable nod and grunt, but it took the backseat of his attention as Teddy took his hand and he gave it a squeeze.

"Everything okay?" he asked. All the looking down and the chain of random questions and now the hand thing...

"Yeah. Just thinking about stuff."

Like going home again. For real this time."

"Like...home home?" Chad said, indicating what he meant with a point of a finger upward and quite a bit of a frown. "Or, y'know, other home..." Which gained a point in the general direction of...over there.

"New York home," Teddy amended. "I--"

He shook his head. "It's stupid."

"You what?" Chad asked; an eyebrow was lifted somewhere beneath his hair, and he leaned forward a little on the counter (carefully), after giving his head a shake to clear that hair away so he could look at Teddy better. "What's stupid?"

"Thought maybe--" He shrugged, looking down. "Maybeyoucouldmeetmydad."

"Could...what?" Chad asked, leaning in closer to hear better because he didn't quite catch that. "Meat jihad?"

Chad was either mean or... Chad.

Teddy sighed, not meeting his eyes. "You could meet my dad."

Definitely just Chad.

A kind of confused Chad, because how Teddy was acting didn't seem to match up, for him, with what Teddy was talking about.

"...Meet your dad?"

"You don't have to if you don't want to. It's a stupid idea."

"Why is it stupid?"

No. Better question.

"Why wouldn't I want to?"

I CANNOT STOP LOVING THIS ICON!

Also, work today, so not around until later. Boo. ;_;
