Doom had heard radio last night. He was aware of what was happening.

That's why there was a sign in the door.

He probably won't make any kids cry.

He will make it a point to make kids cry.

Seriously, Doom's so hardcore that he might give candy just to disintegrate it before the kid gets to eat it. We're talking first class supervillainy here.

Jaina ran in, looking a little rushed. "I need a box," she announced.

"Find one elsewhere," Doom ordered.

"But you're closer!" she insisted. "It's important and I need it right away."

"How important could it be? You're a mere child," Doom said.

"More important than anything you're doing right now," Jaina shot back. "I just need a box, please?"

"I'm dealing with you right now," Doom said. "If my dealing with your request for a box is that unimportant, either whatever reason you have for needing the box isn't terribly important at all or your logical reasoning is poor enough that your opinion of importance is voided. Either way, I still see no reason to provide you with a box."

Jaina rolled her eyes. "Whatever. How about I asked nicely?"

"That doesn't matter to me," Doom said. "Do you have ten dollars?"

Jaina frowned. "Is that how much a box costs, or do you want to know if I have it?"

"It's what I may charge for a box," Doom said. "Unless I could be convinced to lower the price."

"How?" she asked warily.

"HI VICTOR!"

Guess who was there to check up on her most favoritest employee! And was very bouncy while doing it.

"Tell me what is so important that you need the box," Doom said.

With another sigh, she said, "I need to catch a gremlin so I can send it to my brother because he's never seen one and if I don't get a box and go back it will go away."

"Wexler? You're a small child, too?" Doom asked. He sighed. Torturing Wexler for daring to enter the store while wee would likely cause too many problems for him. Fine. This one child was safe.

The thought of the child being attacked by a gremlin and perhaps bitten, giving her even more cause to be traumatized when she reverted to her true form, was appealing to Doom.

"Apu. Retrieve a box from the back room for this small child," Doom said. "No charge." Apu went into the back as ordered.

Turtle giggled a little. "I'm not that small!" she insisted. "Small people don't own stores!"

"You're small enough that I could easily crush you with my boot if I wished," Doom said.

Jaina grinned. "Thank you," she said politely, hoping the gremlin wasn't bored waiting for her.

Apu returned with the box and gave it to Jaina.

Doom merely said, "Now leave."

Jaina thanked Apu, too, and then ran with the box back to the sewer entrance as fast as she could.

Turtle's giggling face quickly went to a slightly pouting face, although it was mostly just confused. "Well, that would be stupid," she told him. "That's murder. If you murder me, then you could end up in jail, and, if not in jail, then at the least out of a job."
