Luke's Diner; Sunday [ 03/30 ]

A.J. was thinking that there was a decent chance that, hey, maybe kids wouldn't really want to bother with a diner. Hopefully. But he was psyching himself up to make lots and lots of little milkshakes just in case, and even made an actual special today instead of just drawing something obscure and abstract: PB&J with the crusts cut off and a glass of chocolate milk. He could even make that one himself!

Ahhh, no diner was safe, it would seem. At least A.J. was thinking he could possibly be amused by the attempts of any of the kidlets to get on any of the stools at the counter. His head tilted, taking into consideration who this was. Since he'd met Annette yesterday, that helped rule people out based on the blonde hair, and it also made his doubt that he'd get the entertainment out of scrambling up to sit down. A ninja should have no problem.

"Iiiiiiiiino?" He guessed, mocking her dragging greeting kindly. He almost kind of expected this, since Annette mentioned Ino being eight right now.

The stool really posed no problem for her, Ino got up on it with a minimum of effort and giggled at him.

"Who else would I be? That's silly!"

After spending some time in the second floor common room, Alex decided she wanted a milkshake.

She bounced on into the diner and over to the counter, scrambling up on a seat. "A.J.! A.J.! Hi!" Why yes, she did seem to be a little more bouncy than usual. Must have been all the sugar she had for breakfast.

A.J.'s eyes went a little bit wide; it was an expression he had a feeling he might be doing a lot today, what with bouncy kids everywhere, and then he had to decide who this one was. The blondes had been taken care of; if Anemone was wee tiny, she'd stick out like a sore thumb with her pink hair, so A.J. had this one narrowed down to one of two people and decided to venture a guess.

"Uh, hey...Alex?" He watched her scrambling closely, just in case it looked like she was going to fall.

A.J. was making a silly face and that made Alex laugh. She nodded, beaming brightly. "That's me!"

A.J. nodded, satisfied with his mad guessing skills, but, really, she was too...chipper to have been his guess for River. "Of course it is," he said. "What can we get Miss Alex today, huh?"

Annette came running in as fast as her little legs would carry her. She was giggling and licking blue frosting off her lips.

"Hihihi!" she was there at the counter and was desperately trying to climb up on one of the stools. "I can't reach it! A.J.! I can't reach!"

Oh, dear Lord, what had Annette been into? A.J. was going to start feeling bad about wanting to give any of the kids who came in free milkshakes, because most of them, it was seeming, had had more than enough sweets already.

He was starting to formulate a theory that a very nefarious dentist might be behind all this.

"...Want some help, hun?" he asked, trying hard not to smirk at Annette's attempts.

Anemone was hungry, and since she couldn't reach the stove by herself today, she went the one place she knew she could get fed.

Even if A.J. wasn't there, she could always cry at the kitchen boys until they fed her.

"Hellllllllloooooo!" A wee!mop of pink hair peeked over the counter. "Can I have fries, please?"
