Caritas - Friday [4/18]

This was just one of those nights where Jolee didn't know why he had done this to his life. Tino was wearing an American flag pin and wouldn't stop bugging him about wearing one, too. "Knock it off. I'm not even from your galaxy, let alone your country," Jolee said.

But Tino persisted. Eventually Jolee would find out that somebody left a bottle of maple syrup out and Tino decided to try chugging the rest of it. At least it explained why Tino was so hyper.

[OOC: If you mod Tino, please mention him being on a patriotic sugar high. He has extra flag pins to pass out if you want to have those pushed on you.]

Tino's trying to make a drink that's distinctly red, white, and blue. It's not working.

Considering that Charlotte's apartment was once again filled with the black smoke of failed baking (and she knew she could bake something as simple as cookies, come on!), she was definitely, without a doubt, absolutely no questions about it, in need of her Friday night drink.

Although the fact that she got a nifty little flag pin when she came in helped things to get at least a little bit better. It might be a nice touch, subtle touch for a lapel should a third date with Nathan occur.

"You didn't bring other people with you again, did you?" Jolee asked.

"Again?" Charlotte's head tilted and she blinked at Jolee in confusion for a moment.

"Oh! You don't mean that cranky fellow that was in here last week, do you? Believe me, we're not associated; he didn't even want anything to do with me!"

"You came in, then other people followed. I just want to make sure you're not becoming a herald for other people," Jolee said.

Charlotte's eyes went a little wide. "Not that I'm aware of," she said, with an honest-to-goodness, hand-over-heart sort of tone, although her head did swivel a little to glance over her shoulder toward the door.

Annette decided to get out for a little while this evening and yes, there just didn't seem a better place than Caritas where she could sit and watch a zombie band and not care about dead smells.

Thing was, Annette just needed a drink, so there she was, parking her rear at the bar.

After shooting a quick glare at Charlotte - "not a herald of more people coming into the bar" his elderly behind - Jolee greeted the young person. "Evening. What can I get for you."

"Good evening," she said pleasantly enough, even though she wondered at that comment. "Um... how about a rum and Coke, thanks."

"Of course," Jolee said. "And you don't even need to deal with the Sugared Kid over there for that one."

Jolee prepared the drink himself and brought it over. "Here you go."

Annette glanced at Tino. "So that's what's up. Kind of early to be celebrating the 4th of July - why's he so... patriotic tonight?"

She took a sip of her drink. "Mmm, thank you."

Vegas girls always go out on Friday nights. It's simply the patriotic thing to do. That's why Mary was at the bar, even if she was feeling just a bit under the weather.

George Michael showered and hurried to catch up with her, 'cause he just figured she was going to the bar.

He can be smart like that.

Anyway, there he was, hair still slightly damp at the back of his neck, curling cutely. "Hi, Mary..."

"Hey you," said Mary, leaning over and giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Are you cold? It's kind of chilly in here today." How she could feel cold when she was wearing three layers of clothing was a mystery.

George Michael wondered the same thing when he looked down at her clothing, but he didn't say anything other than, "No, I'm fine." But his arm went around her back, holding her a little close. "Feeling okay?"

Jolee was now resigned to the fact that he was going to actually have customers tonight, so he just got on with business. "What can I get for you tonight?"
