The York Gallery; Wednesday [ 05/14 ] -- Exhibit Opening!

Charlotte always found a new exhibit opening to be exciting, and she was a little surprised that she actually wasn't feeling too nervous about this one, either! With the exception of a few of the artist's pastels and wall sculptures, the majority of the Bruce Naigles pieces were scattered aesthetically on the main gallery floor, and her personal favorite took the center position. The table of treats and hors devours was set out, as well as the amazing punch fountain, and everything was ready!

The York Gallery was open!

"Definitely worth a try," Charlotte nodded with conviction. "And, then, we can sell the rights to the story and they'll make one of those inspirational Based on a True Story movies and everything."

"I'm not..." She made a small face. "That fond of the press."

Charlotte wondered if it might be a bit too personal to ask, so she tried to seem just innocently curious. "Why not?"

"I've had my differences with them," She said tightly.

"Oh, yes," Charlotte nodded. "I see."

Although she probably didn't; while her own experience with the press wasn't exactly her favorite, a bullshit article in a homes and garden magazine probably was miles away from the sort of thing she had a feeling Renee might have been involved in.

Shaking it off, Renee nodded toward one of the statues. "How much do these things even go for?"

"It depends, really," Charlotte said, shrugging. "Lesser known artists will go for less, and there's the commission to factor in. That particular one is marked at about $15,000, but prices are always negotionable."

That got her to step back.

Yeah, way out of her price range ever. "That's a lot."

Charlotte's smile was a bit sympathetic. "There are a few that are priced at a bit under a thousand, too, but these artists, yeah, they don't usually mess around."

"Let me know if you get something in more of a hundred dollar price range," Renee said.

Not that she had anywhere to put it now.
