A new day brought new thoughts, new feelings, and oh my god embarrassment from yesterday. Amber was such a dork to have rattled on like she did yesterday to Liir. Ah, man. No way to take any of it back. At least he didn't seem to think too deeply about it, which was a good thing, seriously. And at least it wasn't mentioned on radio.

"Oh! Crap! I've got to run a special sale today!" she exclaimed to anyone who listened. Most likely just Apu who she noticed was bobbing his head up and down rather quickly. "Careful there, Apu. Don't want to lose your head."

Okay, so soap might not be such a good special but Amber just picked quickly and hoped Turtle didn't come by and wonder what the hell. Not like Amber would tell someone, 'Oh hey, you stink. Buy soap'. But she could suggestively sale, right?

Sokka happily got himself a Wienie Roast Squishy and grinned at Amber. "So, I see I've talked you around to the Dark Side of the Inertia."

"Hi, Sokka," she grinned. "I simply stuck with a theme." Otherwise the No Meat Squishy rule applied.

"Ah-ah-ah," Sokka cautioned, wagging a finger. "Admit it, I've converted you."

Amber leaned forward on the counter and continued to grin. "Sokka, did you notice we are having a sale today?" she asked, deliberately evading his comment.

Sokka raised an eyebrow at her and sniffed his armpits. "Are you saying I'm stinky?" he asked.

"I would never say somthin' so unkind," she replied innocently enough, though her eyes held all kinds of wicked amusement. "I'm just sayin', there's a sale. It would behoove you to stock up."

"I'll have you know, I am Spring Fresh!" Sokka insisted. "Maybe it would behoove you to not insult the customers!"

"Ah, come on now. I didn't insult you. Did I? For real? When there's a good thing goin', you gotta take advantage, you know?"

Cal had come in to grab a soda real quick before his workshop, and then tilted his head slightly at the sign. "You're having a sale," he commented as he approached the counter with a grape Faygo, already pulling his wallet from his back pocket, "on soap..."

"Hi, Cal," Amber said, with cheer. Then she leaned back and turned, looking at the sign as well. "Ayup. It would appear so." She looked back at him. "Are you in the market for that clean, sparklin' freshness that only comes from soap? Because you are in luck; you have come to the right place."

Cal eyed Amber a little. "So," he asked after a moment, "how long have you been working on that one?"

"Do you like it? Does it make you want to buy soap?" she asked instead.

"...I was going to buy soap the moment I saw it on sale," Cal admitted. "Do you know how much I'm in the gym, Amber? Do you know how much soap I go through washing up after all that?"

"Radio tells me you're in the gym a lot, Cal," she nodded, impressed. "I'm never in the gym. I'm lanky enough and it can't be improved upon. But yay for needin' soap!"

"Hopefully," he commented, "radio doesn't misconstrue this as a suggestion that I have bad B.O."

Pause.

"I don't...do I?"

He had already showered after his earlier work-out, so he assumed he was good.

"They say that you can't smell your own."

And he was Greek...

She raised her brows. "You want me to sniff you?"

It wasn't in her job description but she was selling soap.

Cal snorted. "I think," he said, "if you need to make a point of sniffing someone to smell anything, they're technically good." He really didn't imagine anyone getting that close to him, anyway. "But I appreciate the offer."

"Good," she laughed. "Smellin' under arms just wouldn't be a happy day at work. And I can't detect any foul vapors so I think you are good."

"The question now, Cal, is just what kind of soap do you want?"

"The...kind that cleans?"

After a moment of wondering what other kinds there were, he all too well remembered what that stuff was supposed to matter.

"None of that smelly girly kind, though," he added.

"Cal, Cal, Cal," Amber shook her head. "You have your normal basic soap, right? Then you have the kind that exfoliates, the kind that makes you feel as though you're... Irish. And then there is the antibacterial kind, the kind with moisturizers, aloe, the kind that makes your skin glisten, glow, look sexy... " Amber was getting carried away.

"Lots and lots of kinds of soaps, yep."

Cal bit his lip a little, against a grin, against a chuckle, and, most importantly, against a little bit of a blush. "What about just plain, basic, gets-ya-clean soap?"

Amber nodded emphatically, grinning like the dork she was. "Oh we have plenty of that kind. It's called Soap. Now you just have to pick a color, size, and shape. Unless you're not partial at all whatsoever."
