Caritas, Saturday evening

As Fandom weirdness went, the candy thing sort of ruled. After seeing what was going on, she'd grabbed a bowl from a cabinet and gone to work holding it out, catching anything she could so that by the time she got to Caritas, she had a good amount to snack on during her shift.

And no, she wasn't planning on sharing. Maybe if you paid her.

Taking a seat at the bar, Barney appraised the bartender he didn't recognize. "Student, teacher, or potential one night stand?"

"Yeah, let's go with none of the above, how about that?" Jaye answered automatically.

"Ah, another for option D, no fun," Barney replied. "Then I'll take a scotch and soda, light on the soda."

"Get a lot of option D's, huh?" she said, getting a glass. "Are you sure you want soda or should I just skip the middleman?"

"This town is very lacking in good times," Barney replied, considering this one still a viable possibility. "Just hit me."

Candy. It was raining candy.

Quite frankly the implausibility of that happening finally got to Worf and had driven him to seek out the local bar.

"Bloodwine," Worf demanded. "Please."


Really the "please" was an afterthought.

Jaye stared at him, deciding he probably wasn't a vampire but who knew, and called, "Tino?"

When he came over, she hissed loudly, "What's bloodwine? Or is he pranking me?"

Worf scowled/growled in frustration. "It's an alcoholic beverage from my homeworld. Judging by your reaction you do not carry it."

Jaye hadn't even checked. Neither had Tino, who was getting his hand smacked away from the candy bowl. "Nope. What's your second choice?"

"Fine," Worf huffed angrily. "Then any beverage you would find befitting a warrior."

Barney drained his glass staring at the dude with the freaky facial. "Oh my god!"

Worf turned and glared at the man staring at him.

He had been pelted by gumdrops and tootsie rolls. He was not in a good mood.

"What is your problem? Sir."

"Nothing," Barney replied, startled by the glare. "Just thinking you and the old bartender'd get along great!" He gave Worf a thumbs up.

"Somehow I doubt your sincerity," he declared gruffly.

Dean had been out gathering the downpour -- never turn down free candy, even if you're not entirely sure where it came from -- and decided that since he was in town, he might as well stop in and get some alcohol too.

"Hey," he said, as he sat down at the bar. "Didn't know you were working here now."

"Shh, don't say that too loud," Jaye said, getting his beer and passing it along. "Next thing you know, the squirrels will be saying things like 'Jaye tells Dean she doesn't pay for her own drinks' and you know how that goes."
