Groovy Tunes; Friday [ 06/13 ]

Chad was considering pulling out the Help Wanted sign again, just to see if he could hire in someone to take his Fridays so that he could go do cool things like visit a volcano, but then Chad realized what day it. After he realized what day it was, he was quite content to be safely tucked behind a counter, listening to music, with his cat who was hairless so, clearly, could not be a threat to increased bad luck.

"Good afternoon, Chad-san," Hinata said, slipping inside carrying a bag and offering him a smile. "And Prince Oscar Pedro Neko-kun as well."

"Afternoon, Hintata-san," Chad greeted her back with a nod of his head. Prince Oscar Pedro, meanwhile, distinctly seemed to divert the course he was on to allow him to cross in front of Hinata for the mere sake of doing it. Chad shook his head a little. "What's up?"

She knelt down with a smile for Prince Oscar Pedro, reaching to pet him if he was so inclined.

Hinata glanced up at Chad-san. "It's been a q-quiet week," she said, "a great d-deal of it spent on the b-beach." Tucking in nooks and crannys as she avoided most people. "How have you been?"

A day when Prince Oscar Pedro wasn't inclined for petting was a day when Fandom stopped being strange. He easily nudged into Hinata's hand, purring loudly all the while.

"Been a quiet week for me, too," Chad said. "But they're usually quiet for me."

She grinned, just a bit, at Prince Oscar Pedro. Well, he'd always get pettings from her.

"I d-don't believe anyone could have quiet with Prince Oscar Pedro around," she said, amused.

That earned the slightest of grins in the corner of Chad's mouth. "Well, I don't count that. You get used to that so much that you barely notice it."

"H-How long did it take you to get used to it?" she asked curiously.

That grunt could have very well been a chuckle. "Not long at all. Day, maybe, at most. Was too cute to not get used to."

Hinata laughed softly. "I'm t-thinking of getting a cat," she told him, "Hoshi-san has said that it d-doesn't bother her the idea."

"Aww, Prince Oscar Pedro," which, of course, really meant Chad himself, "would like that. With the boss gone, he," again, code word for Chad himself, "doesn't have as many other kittens to play with."

"I'd have to remember to bring a k-kitten around then." Hinata petted Prince Oscar Pedro gently. "It w-wouldn't do for anyone to get lonely."

"And Neko-kun especially likes company." In case she couldn't tell by the constant purring and nuzzling into his hand. Chad nodded to the bag that Hinata was carrying. "Did you bring him his coconut?"

"I did!" There was a definite sort of beam there. "And I r-remembered yours as well."

"Awwww." There was a definite sort of smile there, which, really, for Chad, was saying a lot. "Arigatou, Hinata-san."

"I said I would," she said, blushing a bit but pleased.

"That you did," Chad agreed with a nod. "I take it that also means you're probably sticking out here today, too, instead of going to the volcano thing, huh?"

That got a bob of her head. "If you d-don't mind."

Chad shook his head a little. Not because he minded, because, of course, he didn't, it just baffled him a little. "But it's a volcano," he pointed out.

She shrugged just a little. "I d-don't mind not seeing it," Hinata said serenely.

"Yeah, but would you like to see it?"

"N-Not really," she said, after a moment. "It's just a mountain for all intents and p-purposes at the moment." A mountain that could erupt, but still.

"A mountain," Chad agreed, grunting as he nodded, "with a great big fiery hole in the middle."

Chad's hand made a circle, a gesture to help the elaborate description along.

Not around much today, so any SP is LOOOOOOOOOOVE.
