Town Hall, All Day

As soon as Zoe heard Hades' announcement, she headed to Town Hall.

Actually, the first thing she did was let out a string of profanity that would have made Mal blush, and if Grace picked any of it up later, she would only have herself to blame. Then she took Grace, promising John they'd be safe, and headed to Town Hall. She ~~handwavily~~ contacted the others in charge on the way, and started working on a plan for how to take care of Hades. At the moment, the plan involved a lot of violence on her part.

No world ending until tomorrow, duh!

Roy was a little late responding to Zoe's call. Which mostly had to do with the whole ghost encounter (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2890921.html?thread=123990953#t123990953) thing and needing to check into the station to get back on top of the situation.

He was paler than usual when he made it into the town hall to find the principal. "I feel like I keep repeating myself, but we really do need to stop meeting like this, principal Washburn."

D'Argo got to Town Hall pretty quickly. "Usually," he said when he arrived, "I would have to be doing a lot of traveling to find all the crises. Here they just show up."

Zoe looked around at the people who had come by, and was bothered, as usual, by how many students were present. She didn't think she'd ever get used to sending them into a fight, but this time she was more than happy to lay all the blame on Hades for putting her into this situation.

"Can I get everyone's attention?" she started. "I know many of you are wondering about what's going on, and I wish I had more details for you. What I can tell you is that some very smart students have an idea on how to get things back in our favor. We need to get a hold of two artifacts from Mount Olympus," she said, going into more ~~handwavey~~ detail about the lyre and the weapon. "I'm sure I don't have to describe exactly how dangerous this mission has the potential to be, and I don't expect any eagerness to help out. That said, we need volunteers, two teams worth, to go and retrieve these items. Is there anyone here who's willing to go?"

"Well, we're all about making things easier around here," Zoe said, smiling softly. "I'm glad to see you're all right."

"We really do," Zoe agreed, looking him up and down. "Are you all right?"

Roy nodded shortly. "The troopers had spotted Hades near the school. I tried to make my way up there, but I got held up by one of the ghosts. By the time I did get there, he was gone. What's the status?"

It sounded like a field trip. Or mini vacay. Toby was so there.

He raised his hand.

Savannah: Zoe is so going to kick his ass for this.

"Same could be said for you," he said. "Though if I had my qualta blade... well, they'd still be in much worse shape than me anyway."

Lee's hand shot up to volunteer. He didn't care about the danger. He was going.

Millie raised her hand to volunteer. It might be good to have an ex-goddess on one of those teams.

Like Anders was going to sit around and let everybody else do the rescuing, when he was leaving soon? Pssh.

Besides, Mount Olympus. ZOMG.

He stepped up and raised his hand. "Put me in, coach, I'm ready to play."

Yes, he was still a dork.

Xander, looking grim and missing one fiancé, shot up a hand as soon as Zoe asked the question. This disappearing-Bridge crap was not happening again.

Ned hadn't actually met the principal yet. So, he was very nervous when he dialed the indicated number and waited for someone to pick up.

Zoe grabbed the phone as soon as she realized it was what was making noise at her. "Hello?"

"Hi, this is Ned," he said carefully. "I'm not a ghost. Or a demon. Or a student that turned into a demon. I'm not gremlin bitten either. I'm not a unicorn but my roommate is a rock. I put him in the closet for safekeeping."

Ned needed to stop babbling.

No way was Cimorene just going to sit back and not do anything. Plus, if there was any kind of fire, she had a very clear advantage. Her hand went up.

"That's...very good to know, Ned," Zoe said. "Is there something I can help you with?"

"Oh, sorry!" Ned said apologetically. "I have some information from you from Chris Halliwell."

He started reading off the story (http://neurotic-witch.livejournal.com/29558.html) slowly.

"That help?"

Zoe listened carefully, looking more and more pleased the more she listened. "Yes, yes that's very helpful," she said, grabbing a piece of paper and jotting down notes.

And the phone was ringing again.

"No problem," Ned said before hanging up the phone quietly.

And Zoe was answering again. "Hello?"

"Hi, I'm sorry to bother you again," Ned said, nodding. "I mean, it's Ned. I've got something else for you."

This sounded exactly like the sort of thing Nysander hoped Seregil would be able to do when he returned to Rhiminee. He raised his hand to volunteer, hoping his skills would prove as useful as his mentor predicted.

"You're not bothering me if it's something good," Zoe said, grabbing her notes again.

Ned started reading off the first story (http://last-mizrahi.livejournal.com/4867.html) and then the second story (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1803881.html?thread=111899753#t111899753) with picture description.

"You are very quickly becoming one of my favorite people," Zoe said, taking more notes. "Pass my appreciation on to everyone who's looking things up, will you?"

"Thank you," Ned said quietly and then frowned at from where he was being snapped at by Tony Stark. "Um. I might be calling you back. Shortly. Okay."

He hung up and went to where he was being called to.

Mohinder stepped forward, hand raised. He was relieved at the opportunity to do something, quelling any concerns that might have whispered about frying pans and fires.

Please, like you could keep Peter away. He held up his hand to volunteer.

No way did Anders not recognize that look on Xander's face.

"Oh, hell," he said. "Tell me they didn't."

Stupid request, really.

"Bridge was supposed to meet me at the apartment after work. Right after work." Xander shook his head. "No show. No answer his phone. No nothing."

Anders's jaw tensed. "Well, hell. If I hadn't already volunteered for this that'd be reason right there. I'm not losing my roomie."

Alex's hand shot up.

And the phone was ringing for the last time.

Zoe was quick to answer this time. "Hello?"

"I have coordinates of some kind for you from Tony Stark," Ned said without preamble and then rattled them off.

Kaylee's hand was in the air after a tiny bit of hesitation.

"Ned?" Zoe said, just for verification. "Thank you."

"Ned," he clarified. "You're welcome. Hope it helps."

He hung up the phone and dashed back to the library group.
