Caritas, Sunday Daytime
Lacey had, in fact, not budged from Caritas all night. Only part of this had to do with her not wanting to risk a trip home with the havoc in the streets, though; a good chunk had to do with the fact that she'd quite frankly been too soused to find her way to the door even if she had wanted to head for home.
So now, hours later, she and Tino were sprawled out on couches in the lounge, engaged in a fierce and completely non-riveting Battle of the Hangovers.
Shame neither of them was particularly conscious enough to appreciate the suspense.
Not that there was much suspense anyway.
[OOC: Here's your Caritas sanctuary post for the daytime hours, if you want to hide out from the mythological wacky. OCD-free!]

And then finding out that Gwynn was gone?
She kind of wanted to drink. A lot. But instead she was sitting by her sleeping daughter, running a hand over her hair gently.

"No, I'm fine, I'm just staying here because I don't want to die horribly... No, Dad, you don't really get earthquake warnings, that's not it. Where do you think I am?... No, Virginia- Oh, I didn't mention that whole moving thing?"

Apparently Savannah wasn't as asleep as Eve had thought.

"You tied me to the bed and left me." She pointed out. "Why would I have wanted to be there when you came back?"

"Of course I would have been out with you...because it's you! And hey, news flash, Johnny. I'm a witch... a powerful witch with access to all kinds of power, and I have to use it to help people." Taking a breath, she looked at him. "What if something had happened to the dorms, Johnny? What if they had done something to the dorms -- where you had left me tied up?"
no subject
Yeah. Johnny might be missing her point entirely.

"Yes. I'm doing exactly that."

"No," she said softly. "I won't do it."

"If I tried to order you to do something... would you?"

"Tell you what. I'll tie you up and leave you alone
and scaredsomewhere, and I'll go fight the bad guys and you can tell me later how much fun that was and how much you felt betrayed by the person you loved for doing that to you."no subject
"...I didn't mean to hurt you. I was trying to protect you."

"I'm always safe. And I want you safe." He stared at her. "Are you going back to our room or not?"
no subject
"No," she said softly, though it hurt her to do so.
no subject
"Nothing I can do, say, can sway you can it?"

And the students and townies would pitch in their fair share by the end.
"You know what we need? A vacation. No, seriously."

Her eyes were bright with tears as she looked at him and she felt like her chest was being squeezed.
"I'm sorry," she said.
no subject
"Be careful. Whatever you do, just be careful."
Then he turned around and walked away.

She watched after him for another long moment, and then left Caritas. She'd go to the Town Hall and see what she could find out.
