Ino had a Tether today. Well. Specifically a Tether-pup who was adorable and friendly and liked being petted. Not any other sorts of tethers.

She wasn’t entirely sure that throwing a ball around in the store was a good idea, but hey, most of the merchandise was in cases so it would probably work out alright. It had so far and that was a good sign.

And if it didn’t, well, Cable-san wouldn’t have to know seeing as he was gone again. At least he’d taken Deadpool-san with him, and ~~oh so handwavily~~ called her to take care of Tether until he got back.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

Who'd be brooding, but has a puppy and therefore can't brood.

Since returning to his normal (so to speak) state, Cal had managed to have two nice, peaceful, even enjoyable days. Those two days, however, he knew, were in preparation for today, because he knew that, when Wednesday rolled around, there was a good chance that those two days were his last, and so he had to make sure they were good ones.

He made his way to the weapons store with a sense of intentional purpose. He took a second to eye the dog with a bit of an arched brow, before his arms folded in front of him and his attention regarded the blonde behind the counter blankly.

"Ino."

"Hi Cal," Ino said, watching Tether go after that terribly vicious ball. "What's up?"

Innocence personified. Really.

Yeah, Cal was going to buy that act.

"I can't help but notice," Cal observed, "that this puppy here is not covered in embarrassingly girly paraphernalia, nor are you snapping a bunch of pictures of him, so I take it that this is someone's actual pet and not another unfortunate person transformed and caught in your clutches."

"I do have pictures of him," she assured him. They were just usual puppy pictures though. Sans ribbons. "But, you're right, he's Cable-san's dog. I'm taking care of him 'til Cable-san gets back."

"He has my sympathy," Cal muttered and then, leveling his gaze a little more, got right to his point. "I want those pictures all burned. And the negatives." His hand slipped into his pocket to pull out his Zippo, and he tossed it into the air, catching it again in his palm. "I'll do it myself if I have to."

Ino eyed him.

"No."

Cal tried his best not to sigh, rolling his eyes slightly before they settled back on Ino, less than pleased. "Why not?"

"Because if I gave yours back, then I'd have to give everyone's back and I've got no intentions of doing anything like that. Bad precedent, you know. If I let myself be bullied out of my pictures."

Really now.

"If you don't give them back," Cal said, steeling himself a little for the words; it was one thing to play it in his mind with the ideal amount of firmness, but it was a little more difficult in actuality. He wondered if he was being overdramatic, but, at the same time, this was about more than just pictures. The future of many potential transformed mankind was at stake here. "then you prize the pictures more than you our friendship. If that's how you want it, fine, but I figured you should know you've got the choice."
