Amber was in a great mood when she came into work. She smiled and waved at Apu as she settled behind the counter with her script. She had to get in some study time and in between customers she could manage it.

Munching on Pop Rocks, she was totally ready for her day.

Hi, how are ya?

Though they'd both been at the theatre yesterday, G'Kar somehow didn't get around to conversing with Amber. So here he was today instead.

"Amber! Good day to you!"

"Hey, G'Kar!" she smiled and gave him a light finger wave. "How are you?"

"I am well. And yourself? How are things?"

"Good! Oh, I'm just doing the same old stuff. Classes, the play, work; you know. Oh, and I've been learning self-defense," she said proudly.

"Really?" he asked, arching an eyeridge slightly. "I thought I had heard mention of such on the radio. How is that going for you?"

"It's going great, actually. I'm learning a lot and though I hope I never have to kick ass, it's a feeling of knowing that I can that helps. You know, evil psycho lady and all."

"Yes," he nodded slightly. "It is unpleasant for one to feel helpless. I do understand that."

"So... tell me what you've been up to besides rehearsal?"

"Not a great deal," he admitted. "Mostly some reading and a bit of writing." He chuckled a little, "I should probably get out more often."

Amber wiggled her finger at him. "You really should," she grinned. "Someone needs to benefit from your awesomeness."

"Awesomeness?" he asked with a small smirk. "What an honorable compliment," he bowed slightly. "And yes, I should be out more. I seem to get so wrapped up in things, that I lose track of time."

Boiling water, Cal discovered, was oddly therapeutic, especially following a class like the sex ed one earlier, and it got Cal thinking a little and part of that thinking came around to Amber and something he'd forgotten to mention yesterday. There were definitely other things on his mind yesterday.

Besides, even if he didn't want to ask about the opening today, he was still on edge from wondering what she had thought about class today.

"Hey, you."

"Hey, you back," she grinned. "I knew you'd be in for the soaps; they're on sale you know."

Cal blinked at Amber for a second and then, warily, backtracked enough to go and look at the sign that he, honestly, hadn't even glanced at when he came in.

"Serendipity," he declared as he came back, shaking his head. "I knew I was fooling myself when I said the reason I was coming in was for you."

Biting her lip, she kept her amusement to a minimum less she make him turn around and head out. "You came in here for me, maybe the soaps too, but more for me," she replied, flirting with him.

"You sure about that? I mean, now that there are smelly, decorative soaps in the picture..."

Amber raised a brow and just gave him a look.

"Joking," Cal said, meeting that look with a grin. "I'm here to see you and ask if you were planning on going to that gallery thing tonight. I meant to ask you yesterday, but...well..." He gave her his own look, "I got distracted."

"Uh, yah, I was planning on going," she said, glancing down at his shirt. She hadn't told him that she submitted any of her work. "Distracted by what?" she asked, meeting his eyes once more.

Oh and hey... "Saw you talking with that girl in Sex Ed. Talk about me?"

Looks like he wasn't the only one getting distracted by things. "Briefly," he said, not letting his eyes falter from Amber's. "There wasn't much to said, really."

But that didn't matter, or, at least, he didn't feel like it should. "So, you going to come to the exhibit with me? I really didn't want to miss it, you know? And I like going to those with you."

"Oh, yah, I'm sure," she said, her tone somewhat dry. But whatever. Amber had to just get this out of her head. Cal was her boyfriend and that is what mattered. Let anyone else say whatever the hell they wanted.

"I would love to come with you," she smiled sweetly, doing away with the ill thoughts that were just in her head. "Besides, it will give us a chance to talk."
