Turtle & Canary; Tuesday [ 09/30 ]

The toothache was, blissfully, gone and she got to train a freaking unicorn in her store today, but Turtle was still seething a bit at that stupid Stephanides kid and his spitting. Who spit on people? Who spit on girls? Something wasn't right with that kid...

...but she was training Jan today, and, really, that would have made everything better even if she still had the toothache. She'd just have to remind herself to be extra careful not to nuzzle him too much, as that might be inappropriate since he was her employee now.

Today's Squishy flavors: Grape Judas, Hay, Green Green Grass

(She figured he'd like those flavors).

Sokka walked up to Jan cheerfully sipping a Hay Squishy. It was every bit as nasty as it sounded, but he was NOT going to admit defeat and get a different flavor. "Hiya!" he said, waving. "...Uh. So... Uh. How do you manage to work the cash register?"

Jan's ears pricked. "Apu looks after the cash register while I supervise," he explained proudly. Apu gave him a long-suffering look. "Plus, I make sure no one invades, and Turtle is going to arrange for me to deliver things."

Sokka grinned. Anyone who pissed Apu off was more than okay by him. "Awesome! You must be able to carry a lot of stuff, huh?"

Most of the time, Tyler could either order what he needed for class experiments online, or find it around the school. But he didn't want to deal with the hassle of arranging a delivery of dry ice.

Therefore he decided to make it Turtle's problem. She owned the store, right? She could do the special order.

"Hey," he greeted the girl. "I don't suppose you guys just happen to have dry ice in stock, do you?"

Ohhh, it was older Tyler. This was a little awkward. "Hi," she greeted him back with a little smile, and then nodded over toward her left. "We actually do have some in a cooler over there. Not much; there isn't a high demand for it, but it does last five times longer than wet ice, you know."

"And I only need it to last until Friday," Tyler reported, rubbing his chin. "I'm impressed you have it at all. Think you have ten pounds back there?"

That would give a good chunk to everyone in class.

There was a Turtle working Turtle and Canary, and even though it was not a Saturday, there was a Marco there, shooting a rubber band at her head.

Turtle gave Marco a dull look. "You don't have psychic sense. Or, rather, if you do, that's totally not fair, because you already have cool abilities, and shouldn't be allowed to have more when others," she indicated herself with hands against her chest, "have none."

"Yaaay!" Turtle clapped her hands and did everything in her power not to bounce, greeting the unicorn with a bright smile. "Welcome to your first day at Turtle & Canary, Jan!"

Jan couldn't help doing a tiny dance with his front hooves, but it was only very tiny. "Thank you! And you will teach me what to do to be a good employee."

Tiny as it may have been, the dancing hooves were still adorable. Turtle beamed. "I don't think I'll have to teach you much," she said, sincerely. "I think, considering the lack of opposable thumbs and everything, you'll mostly be in charge of helping people find what they dead, and Apu there can handle all the technical exchange of goods and money. So you big thing will definitely be familiarizing yourself with the store to better serve our customers, yeah?"

Sokka had hit up J,GOB, and then started looking for Turtle. Luckily enough, T&C was one of his first stops.

"HEY! Turtle! I got something for you!" He was carrying a small cupcake which he'd gotten them to write "Congratulations!" on in a nice flowy script.
