Turtle and Canary, Tuesday [7.10]

Jan and Apu had had a little talk. Not that Jan would ever threaten him, oh no. All he'd done was point out to Apu that, should the shop indeed be invaded, it would be much better to have a unicorn who liked you to defend you, rather than one who didn't.

And that if Apu would stop bemoaning the fact that he had to work with a unicorn he and Jan could be friends.

This logic could not be argued with, and the two had reached an accord. Apu was manning the counter, Jan was ~~unicorning~~ patrolling the aisles, ready to direct a customer or fight off an invasion as the need arose.

Today's Squishy flavours: Red, Apple, Noble Steed (tastes like parfait).

He's pathetically eager to be of service.

Unless you're trying to invade, in which case he won't show you where the oats are kept.

It seemed strange not going to the store on Tuesdays anymore, but G'Kar was there today so he could meet their newest employee.

Seeing Apu behind the counter was a bit unusual; most of the staff preferred that. Of course, most of the staff also just lounged behind the counter reading or whatever else occupied their time.

"Good morning, Apu!" he called cheerily. "Hello Jan? Are you in here?"

Jan's head appeared from around one of the shelves at the end of the oat aisle. "Hello," he called. "I am here! How can I help you?"

"Ah! There you are!" he smiled. "I am G'Kar. Perhaps Turtle has told you of me? I just wanted to stop in and meet you."

"She has." Jan's ears shot forward and he trotted over. "You gave me your day to work at the store," he said, and bowed his head. "Thank you."

"You're quite welcome," he bowed back. "It certainly freed up my very hectic schedule," he joked with a grin.

"How are things going for you so far?"

"They are going well," he said happily. "So far no one has tried to invade, and I am learning where everything is, so I can show people how to find what they're looking for."

"Very good!" he smiled back. "Invasions don't seem to happen too often. And if they invade looking for supplies, they'll know exactly where to come shopping."

His sense of humor sometimes was a bit off-color.

Jan snorted in amusement. "And if they invade, I will send them away with their tails between their legs!" he declared. "If they have tails, that is."

He laughed. "Excellent idea! Just make sure they pay for their goods first otherwise you'll have to face Turtle. And I do think an invading horde would be easier to take on," he smirked.

Especially When Jan's off in Ethics class.

Just...don't ask him about the unicorn.

1) I have wine.

2) Also, I may have some availability tomorrow I think.

3) I have wine.

...I know three is the same as one, but it's so important, it was worth saying twice.
