The Onsen - Afternoon

Ichigo had a small bag slung over his shoulder as he waited at the entrance to the Onsen for Ino. There were several things he was trying not to think of right now. One thing in particular kept popping up involving Ino and bathing suits.

Nope, he was going to stop thinking about that now. And he wouldn't think of it... Well, until he got inside, he supposed. Did he go crazy agreeing to this? Probably.

Oh hey, that was a rather effective way of making her shut up and Ichigo ruffled her hair under water before he pulled back, smirking.

She surfaced, coughing and sputtering and trying to glare at him but her hair was in her eyes.

"I hope you know," she said, with as much dignity that she could muster, "that this means war."

And she tried to kick his feet out from under him.

For one instant there was an orange haired boy in the bath, the next there wasn't. There was however a wave of water as Ichigo went under, limbs flailing.

Ino cackled and quickly tried to get out of range of retaliation.

Which, really, had to be coming.

Ichigo came up spluttering and he shook the water out of his hair. "Low blow," he declared. Not that it stopped him from lunging forward. This time he was doing to dunk her and he reached for her shoulders to push her under water.

"All's fair in love and war!" she crowed, trying to squirm out of his grasp.

He hesitated for just a split second, then used more force to try to get her back under water. "Fine then!"

She went under--outraged!--and, in a fit of what could best be termed as 'not really thinking' tried to kick his feet out from under him again.

Ichigo lost his balance, but he was still holding on to Ino which meant that when he started to fall, he fell forward, still holding on to Ino.

Ino realized this... as he was falling.

Good show, Ino.

She flailed underwater, trying to get away.

Except that he was bigger and heavier. Funny how that worked and how come it was only when he was half on top of her, already rolling away, that he had to notice the bikini thing again?

"You okay?" he asked quickly.

It was fairly obvious yes.

Ino pushed her hair back from her face and found her footing. "You're not supposed to fall on girls," she informed him.

Never mind that it was her fault. Shhh.

"You're not supposed to make me fall on you," he grumbled, subtly moving a little bit away to sit back down.

She waded over to sit next to him. "You tried to drown me."

He rolled his eyes and for some reason held out his hand to her. "Hardly."

She took it, for some reason, and grinned at him. "You so did."

"You're still talking, so I must have done a shoddy job," he pointed out and he tugged on her hand for her to sit down.

She let him pull her over before sitting and not giving his hand back yet. "I think I'll keep talking no matter what, really."

"Oh god, you'd be one of those annoying ghosts who just keeps hovering and jabbering away," he sighed.

"I'm not going to be a ghost if I die," she said lightly. "I'll just be dead."

...because that was totally cheerful and stuff.

"Ghost. Spirit," he shrugged. "You'll just move on to the spirit world."

"I'm not planning on moving on for a good while," she said with a sniff.

"Sorry," he said sheepishly, brushing his thumb over the back of her hand. "We can change the topic."

"It's kind of a depressing one, don't you think?" she asked, smiling slightly. "I mean, really..."

"Sort of," he agreed, pulling her hand in his lap. "I think my views are a little skewed."
