The Onsen, Saturday Afternoon

The last time Hannibal had been here, he'd been cold and unprepared for taking any sort of swim even in something as warm as the onsen. Today, he was still a little cold but he had a towel and a proper swimsuit. And, while Toby was always good company, he sort of preferred the company he had with him today.

"Nice, right?" he asked, waving a hand at the onsen. "I was right."

[For his company but open place in town is open, of course.]

Angela grinned across at him. "Liar," she laughed.

"Am not!" he said. "You're the liar."

"I never claimed that I wasn't," Angela pointed out easily, leaning back lazily against the edge of the onsen.

"Liar, liar, pants on fire," he chanted and splashed her again.

Angela still wasn't denying it, and just laughed and stuck her tongue out at him, splashing right back.

He started it.

"Hey, hey, don't waste the water," he chided. "You'll get us arrested!"

"I can pull off innocent really well. I think I'd get away with it," she told him confidently.

"Would you let them arrest me if I couldn't lie?" Hannibal asked.

"I can be cute and innocent for the both of us," she promised him with a bright grin. "I wouldn't let them take you away."

"You're so sweet," he said and tapped his heart. "Almost makes me take back the liar, liar chant. Almost."

"Oh, come on. I said I'd keep you out of police handcuffs. If that doesn't earn a full take back, what does?" Angela asked.

Hannibal thought about it before he said, "You have to sing a song."

Angela laughed and shook her head. "What is it with you and trying to make me sing?" she asked.

"Because I bet you have an awesome voice," he said. "And I wanna hear it."

"If I do, you do," she suggested.

"Fine," Hannibal said after a minute. "You go first though."

"You better not back out," she said, pointing at him warningly.

Angela paused a moment, before breaking briefly into the refrain from 'All I want for Christmas'. It had been played at her repeatedly on Tuesday, alright.

It couldn't be said she was at all bad, at least. Daughter of a rock star had to pick up a few things along the way.

Hannibal scooted down a little, letting the water envelope his arms while he listened and then he gave her a rousing round of applause at the end.

"I take back the liar, liar pants on fire," he said. "You're pretty good."

"Thank you," she said with a grin. "Now it's your turn."

"I'll go tomorrow," he said and smiled at her. "How's that?"

"Ohhh, not a chance," Angela said, shaking her head. "You're so backing out on our deal."

"I'll do it tomorrow!" he repeated. "I'll serenade you as you wake up!"

Angela looked just a little dubious of that. "Why won't you do it now?" she asked.

"Because I'm swimming," he said and kicked some water with his feet as if he was treading water.

"You're telling me you can't multitask a little?" Angela said with a little smirk. "I'm pretty sure you can."
