Dōjima had promised Cal ice cream for his birthday, and she had meant it.

Admittedly, he probably wasn't expecting the store to be filled with balloons, streamers, and people, but Dōjima tended to be a bit of a dork about things like this, especially when it came to her friends.

Besides, he had said it was okay if she brought a small army, so inviting the entire student body was perfectly acceptable, right? Right.

"It's too cold for ice cream," Tony protested.

"It's never too cold for ice cream!"

"Yes it is!" Though it looked really good. "Okay, I'll try it. But if I turn into a popsicle, it's all your fault."

"We'll find someone to warm you up here," Dinah said optimistically. "Someone here has to have a superpower like that. Ooo. Maybe Ronan could?"

Tony blushed and grinned. "Maybe he could."

"Oooo!" Dinah's squee ratcheted up a notch. "Hmmm. Ronan, hunh? He's nice. And cute. And a wizard...."

"Do not go all matchmaker on me!" Tony warned. "Anyway, Ronan's fun but he's too much of a player for anything serious."

"Ooo. Well, okay then," Dinah allowed. "If you're looking for serious and all." She tilted her head. "So he told you, that he's kind of? Um. Not-serious?"

"I can tell," Tony said. "And I"m not looking for serious, exactly. I'm all for hooking up with Ronan; I just don't expect it to go anywhere."

Dinah could never tell. She sighed a little. "Either way. Warm ups! Not a bad thing." She grinned a little. "He was going to put a warming spell on my room on Thursday night, but then the power came back on and we didn't need it."

Tony smiled. "I'd definitely take warming up if Ronan offered. Anyone else offer to keep you warm?" he asked.

"Tony!"

Dinah's eyes might have slewed over to a still-shirtless Leto there. "Um. No one?"

Tony looked where she was looking and grinned. "Did 'no one' seem interested?"

"I can't tell!" Dinah flailed a little, arms waving. "I mean, he's really nice and all, and he keeps touching me, but maybe that's just a Fremen thing from where he's from, and my brain keeps shorting out..."

Tony was really trying not to snicker at her flailing. "Why don't you ask him for coffee or something? See how it goes?"

Dinah turned even more red. "Maybe. Maybe? Um. If I can do it without exploding from embarrassment." She gulped. "Or not."

Tony smiled. "Or just wait and see what happens."

"That's good too!"
