Chilly Boulder, Late Saturday Afternoon/Early Evening

Dōjima had promised Cal ice cream for his birthday, and she had meant it.

Admittedly, he probably wasn't expecting the store to be filled with balloons, streamers, and people, but Dōjima tended to be a bit of a dork about things like this, especially when it came to her friends.

Besides, he had said it was okay if she brought a small army, so inviting the entire student body was perfectly acceptable, right? Right.

Well, that made more sense than Merlin might rightly possess. "What flavour do you think?---"

Oh, his attention was on the chocolate chip cookie dough now. It was cookies. And ice cream. All at once. He might find himself loving this place more and more.
