Chilly Boulder, Late Saturday Afternoon/Early Evening

Dōjima had promised Cal ice cream for his birthday, and she had meant it.

Admittedly, he probably wasn't expecting the store to be filled with balloons, streamers, and people, but Dōjima tended to be a bit of a dork about things like this, especially when it came to her friends.

Besides, he had said it was okay if she brought a small army, so inviting the entire student body was perfectly acceptable, right? Right.

Dinah nodded, and took another few licks of her cone to keep it from melting. "You just have to keep trying until you find your favorite." She gave Leto a grin over her cone. "So what's your favorite sweet from home?"

"Dried fruit? Small sweets made of thin dough and nuts? I'm not sure I have a favourite." His ice cream melted down on to his hand, and he frowned, trying to lick it off. "So you think I should try all the flavours until I make myself sick and you will have to nurse me back to health?"

"Sounds like baklava, a little," Dinah said, her voice trailing off into a sigh as she watched Leto. She shook herself and re-applied herself to her ice cream cone, then turned bright red at Leto's joke. "Oh, hey. If you do that, I'd feel responsible. So, I'd have to, right?" She wrinkled her nose, giggling. "Although your roommate might kick me out after a while."
