Luke's Diner, February 16 (Monday)
Lacey very happily put the red rose she'd gotten on Saturday into a slim crystal vase and set it up beside the cash register in a place of honor.
And then tied a ribbon around the vase.
And put the vase on a doily.
And sprinkled glitter confetti on the doily, then went about her cleaning-and-straightening routine. The staff, upon witnessing that little chain of events, was now fairly sure she was just trying to convince them she had friends, and had bought it for herself.
Luke's is open, and of course the staff is convinced Lacey's lying when she actually isn't. Of course.
